How To: Fool for Love 2010 Acheivements
Blizzard has made the event essentially, idiot proof. So obviously I had a hard time with it but through my many epic failures I’ve learned a few things of which I will now pass on to you my little zygotes.
You can get everything you need with Love Tokens. It’s the new currency for the event. You get them by doing a few daily quests all around the world. You can turn in a Lovely Charm Bracelet to each faction leader once per day for 5 tokens (so that’s 20 a day from there) and you can do a Goblin guy daily once a day for another 5. Then there’s the whole over-arching quest line involving the new mini-boss in Shadowfang Keep which is a trio of alchemists that do some silly AOE shit with perfume and cologne.
Anyway here’s the fastest way to get these tokens by yourself period. At level 80 you can do many different things to quickly farm tokens which can be used for the world event or sold in the AH, whichever you prefer. Running over skeletons in the Argent Tournament daily quest in front of Icecrown Citadel will get you a bunch of tokens for little effort but there is risk involved as getting pounded by the riders and gargoyles can ruin your fun. I found it best to lose them as I ran up the stairs leading to the ICC raid portal.
Getting in a small group and simply clearing endless trash in Ulduar’s siege area before Flame Leviathan is also one of the fastest and easiest ways to get the job done. But once again, there’s risk here that you have to share the killing blows with other people and at the same time your vehicle will eventually die, or maybe you’ll over aggro and be screwed.
The best way to get these all alone is to take the infra-green bombing run daily quests and simply never turn it in. You’ll get tokens for the mobs you bomb on the ground and the mobs you shoot out of the sky and there really isn’t much of a requirement other than being 80 to do it. You don’t share the kills, the respawns are nigh instant, and if your skip gets killed you’ll be safely taken back to the platform for a fresh one.
All the achievements for the event and your title are pretty self explanatory and all hinge on you having enough tokens to buy what you need to get them accomplished. Happy hunting kids.

Oh nice. Thank you! I want the pet a lot but don’t want to dick around with the holiday. I swear to god if I get Cascade of Roses on me again I’m going on a killing spree.
Stupid shit like that irks the hell out of me. I wish I could opt out of all the ‘throw stuff’ buffs like that or the idiotic pumpkin head one from Halloween. Blergh.
Yeah the roses are pretty damn annoying on my pally. IF you’re lucky enough to have a buddy online and you’re both not saved, it’s obscenely easy to get hundreds of lovely charms off the iron dwarves in the 1st area of Ulduar. I just got the dwarfageddon achievement on my rogue last night.
Do you need to do anything to start them spawning? The charms I mean, are there precursor quests?

nope. Just speak to the peddelfeet goblin hovering about and he’ll give you a kit you have to keep in your inventory. then when you kill something that would give exp or honor it’ll auto loot something into your bags no need to actually loot yourself
Sweet. =) Now if only they had done a better job during my faction transfer — I wanted to do the bombing run you suggested — couldn’t, apparently there’s yet another quest line I have to redo to get those quests. I’m still rather irked that the douchebags took away my Crusader title and now I have to do all the stupidly tedious Argent crap again. I hate Jousting. =)
Oh! I did figure out a way to have the holiday flower buff auto-remove. =) There’s an addon called Wet Blanket, I went into the LUA file and at the top there’s a list of buff names — added Cascade of Roses to the list and BAM! The buff barely has time to list before it is removed. Yay. =) Also removes Mohawks (not that that matters anymore) and Jack’O'Lanterns. I suspect any buff you want it to drop immediately could be listed.
This doesn’t seem to work anymore since the patch. On Monday, Ulduar seige engines proved to be an awesome way to quickly get charms. This no longer works today. Can you confirm that the infra-green bombers still work?

If you are wanting to farm a lot of them for all of your alts, that’s your call, but it shouldn’t be trivial to get a ton of them and something you finish in 1-2 days if that’s the case. The event is pretty long now, so there is time to farm them and now, yes, you may actually have to put some effort into it – that’s all.
I just killed the mobs by Ice Crown Citadel for like an hour and had all the charms I needed for the only thing I wanted — the vanity pet. =) Got it this morning, totally done with this event with the possible exception of trying the SFK bosses to maybe get the Toxic Ooze pet.
