When the whelps pop the prot palidan picks them up. Thats the whole point of him being their in addition to pulling aggro of the drakes back and forth off of the druid. The wave would pop pretty late seeing as when you normally take a drake you have a 30ish second period to dps, then the portal which they give you about 10 sec. to get everyone throught then the 15-25 second timer where the drakes start to pop. The palidan comes into play because of the aoe taunt that deals 1 damage and draws aggro. This coupled with the 50% damage reduction for 20 seconds lets him hold aggro and take minimal damage. In a tight squeeze he also has lay on hands and with the shaman there, gift of the naaru post 3.1 is extremely helpful after LOH. The pali also can pull the drakes very far away from the raid because of the above stated, which is good incase he does go down. The farther away, the longer the raid isn’t hit with that additional flood of damage. Very well done on their party.

I really want to try this too, getting the right group with 3 tanks and 5 good dps with good synergy to do it the conventional way is harder than finding 8dps who can do 5.2k over 75 seconds, considering they have all their CDs and a bloodlust to blow in that time you don’t even need to stack OP classes.

Im curious as to what happens to the whelps though, there must have been at least 1 wave, and they would kill the MT if he held them..

The near 7k DPS was understandable, especially the Blood DK that pulled off a 6k+ DPS. Surely he can pull that off with the gears AND the fact that recount recorded a 76 seconds long wherein there were 20 seconds worth of Hysteria buffed DRW. If it took more than that, surely the DK’s DPS would start dropping and recount would’ve recorded it at 5k+ DPS.

It mostly about the gear you know, if they got full raid-HCs they can make stuff like this, not mentioning the imba feral druid tanks that have the highest dps in the raids sometimes Also worth notice that all the dpses were melees which was due to the frost DK present extremly effective. Bear in mind this couldn’t have been done without proper thinking and talent setting first

Holy schnikes!

The LOW end DPS was 4.5K — the top did nearly 7K and according to that WWS report the raid did 42K DPS.

That’s mad DPS right there. Looks like only one healer too.

Sheesh, darn impressive. =) The best sustained DPS I ever did was 3.3K, I wouldn’t have made the cut for them with that.
