The Daily Spoon: Things you Noticed in Patch 3.0.2
Just taking a moment right quick before I start slamming the site with newsy updates and such, to dwindle on some of the lighter topics that have popped into my head recently. I was a bit surprised (pleasantly so) that there was a lot in the patch that wasn’t really high enough on the profile to make a big enough splash, so when I saw these new changes it was both exciting and wonderful.
I can only vouch for my Hunter and my Shaman but none the less it’s pretty sweet right now.
- Hunter Aspect spells are mana free now.
- Hunter pets will auto-assist if you start shooting at something while on defensive. This saves one more button press and one less macro for me.
- Hunter pets also multi-tank now without command. I noticed that when i was fighting something, if an add attacked my pet or myself, my little buddy would switch targets, attack once or twice, growl, and then go back to the original target.
- Bullets now have a streak to them which might be a bug but otherwise is a neat little effect.
- Training Dummies in the capital cities can level your weapon skill. This is the single most awesome thing I have noticed by far, I went from level 75 bows to 220 in about 2000 rounds of ammo the other night. Hopefully this isn’t a bug and other weapon using classes out there can find some peace in knowing there’s an alternative to grinding the undead mobs near the Sunwell.
- The Leeroy Jenkins Achievement is possibly the most fun achievement in the game and brought back a lot of memories. Also my Shaman solo’d all of LBRS, got the UBRS key, and almost solo’d all of UBRS on the way to the Rookery. As enhancement.
Anything special or surprising that caught you the past few days?

Movement speed overall seems to be faster. Or maybe things are just smoother.
It did feel like I was running faster on my Shaman
yea i noticed that too… it seems like you run around faster the before… can anyone confirm that we indeed move faster or if it just seems that way because of something else?
My roommate commented on this, she said, it seems like we’re going faster than before! I can’t say I noticed, but perhaps? I thought it was just her cold medicine talking!
My prot spec’d warrior deals massive amounts of damage now as compared to before! I’m almost dumbstruck at how much damage I’m doing now, and I freakin’ LOVE it! Four long years of doing shitty DPS has finally been vindicated
