Profession Trainers in Northrend…

So how many times exactly have you had to answer this question over general chat in the Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord? Seriously. I mean I had to tell a guy the other night where the mailbox was because he couldn’t muster the effort to find it himself.

What is it about new content that makes people so fucking lazy? I mean sure if you can’t find the profession trainers right away AFTER you explore the new quest hub/town then by all means ask in general, but this is getting out of hand. Where has the mailbox been for the past 70 levels? Did you not think to check at the inn? How about using the built in tracking on your mini map that Blizzard put in months ago? People’s brains turn off when they log on I swear.

So to alleviate some of this in the hopes that general chat can be used at least a little bit in a more constructive manner than retarded Barrens 3.0, here’s quick list of profession trainers in the starting zones for Horde and Alliance!

Disclaimer: I will bitch people out for asking stupid questions and not looking past their cyborg fucked up UI’s to see the NPCs in front of them. Please pardon my jaded attitude as I have had to answer these questions (or at least suffer amazing arguments about them) for roughly 5 weeks straight of Beta and now on live realms with people I might actually have to group with)

In the Howling Fjord, all of these Horde grand master trainers can be found in Vengeance Landing. Turn on NPC names if you have to (in the interface menu) or just mouseover to find them:

Wilhelmina Renel <Grand Master Alchemy Trainer>
Thomas Kolichio <Grand Master Cooking Trainer>
Sally Tompkins <Grand Master First Aid Trainer>
Roberta Jacks <Grand Master Skinning Trainer>
Marjory Kains <Grand Master Herbalism Trainer>
Kristen Smythe <Grand Master Blacksmithing Trainer>
Jonathan Lewis <Grand Master Mining Trainer>
Jamesina Watterly <Grand Master Engineering Trainer>
Gunter Hansen <Grand Master Leatherworking Trainer>
Emil Autumn <Grand Master Enchanting Trainer>
Carter Tiffens <Grand Master Jewelcrafting Trainer>
Booker Kells <Grand Master Inscription Trainer>
Angelina Soren <Grand Master Fishing Trainer>
Alexandra McQueen <Grand Master Tailoring Trainer>

And here are the Alliance counterparts that can be found in Valgard in Howling Fjord:

Anchorite Yazmina <Grand Master First Aid Trainer>
Benjamin Clegg <Grand Master Tailoring Trainer>
Bernadette Dexter <Grand Master Leatherworking Trainer>
Brom Brewbaster <Grand Master Cooking Trainer>
Elizabeth Jackson <Grand Master Enchanting Trainer>
Fayin Whisperleaf <Grand Master Herbalism Trainer>
Frederic Burrhus <Grand Master Skinning Trainer>
Grumbol Stoutpick <Grand Master Mining Trainer>
Lanolis Dewdrop <Grand Master Alchemy Trainer>
Mindri Dinkles <Grand Master Inscription Trainer>
Ounhulo <Grand Master Jewelcrafting Trainer>
Rosina Rivet <Grand Master Blacksmithing Trainer>
Tisha Longbridge <Grand Master Engineering Trainer>
Byron Welwick <Grand Master Fishing Trainer>

In the Borean Tundra you can find almost every single trainer for the Horde in Warsong Hold BUT you can find the Leatherworking and Skinning trainers ONLY in the Taunka’le Villiage. You’ll get there after about 10 minutes of questing or just mount up and ride EAST.

Tiponi Stormwhisper <Grand Master Skinning Trainer>
Awan Iceborn <Grand Master Leatherworker>

Here is a map for those who don’t know what the fuck GO EAST means. Go back to Elwynn & Durotar and L2P.

The rest are in Warsong Hold around the pillar where you first arrive, get off the zepplin and jump down to where you see all these NPCs surrounded by what look like crafting doodads. And call me crazy but the TAUREN surrounded by FUCKING HERBS just might be THE HERBALISM

Tansy Wildmane <Grand Master Herbalism Trainer>
Raenah <Grand Master Tailoring Trainer>
Orn Tenderhoof <Grand Master Cooking Trainer>
Nurse Applewood <Grand Master First Aid Trainer>
Geba’li <Grand Master Jewelcrafting Trainer>

Fishy Ser’ji

HIS NAME IS FISHY HE MIGHT BE THE FISHING TRAINER WHO KNOWS!?

<Grand Master Fishing Trainer>
Eorain Dawnstrike <Grand Master Enchanting Trainer>
Crog Steelspine <Grand Master Blacksmithing Trainer>

Chief Engineer Leveny

CHIEF ENGINEER IS CLEARNER NOT THE ENGINEERING TRAINER

<Grand Master Engineer>
Brunna Ironaxe <Grand Master Mining Trainer>
Arthur Henslowe <Grand Master Alchemy Trainer>
Adelene Sunlance <Grand Master Inscription Trainer>

Here are the Alliance counterparts in the Borean Tundra at Valiance Keep:

Trapper Jack <Grand Master Skinning Trainer>
Tink Brightbolt <Grand Master Inscription Trainer>
Sock Brightbolt <Grand Master Engineering Trainer>
Rosemary Bovard <Grand Master Leatherworking Trainer>
Rollick MacKreel <Grand Master Cooking Trainer>
Old Man Robert <Grand Master Fishing Trainer>
Kirea Moondancer <Grand Master Herbalism Trainer>
Fendrig Redbeard <Grand Master Mining Trainer>
Falorn Nightwhisper <Grand Master Alchemy Trainer>
Darin Goodstitch <Grand Master Tailoring Trainer>
Brynna Wilson <Grand Master First Aid Trainer>
Argo Strongstout <Grand Master Blacksmithing Trainer>
Alexis Marlowe <Grand Master Enchanting Trainer>
Alestos <Grand Master Jewelcrafting Trainer>

I agree.. 98% of the local chat is “where is _____?” its not really that complicated… just go look around…

the first thing i did when i got to the new zones a was go look around… i clicked almost every vendor and other NPC in town.. (its nice to see whats available in town).. after that before i even started questing i mounted up and went exploring.. ive almost fully explored all of northrend already… it makes questing easier when you have the map revealed already..

problem is most people dont want to think.. soon as they got off the zep they ran to every “!” on the map and took off questing… and are repeatedly asking “where do i find _____? or where do i go for _____ quest?”

so what will end up happening is a bunch of lvl 80 characters who have no idea where anything is… or whats in the places that quests didnt take you…. its sad really

Agreed, I was blown away by how helpless people seemed. The night WotLK came out, a friend and I created death knights, and endured stupid question after stupid question in the general chat. I was blown away by how lazy people are! One person asked where to find the swords used to make runeblades…they were about three feet away from the quest giver, all aglow with the telltale quest sparklies. *headdesk*

To be honest, I had prof trainers on track and still had a hard time finding them. Maybe something is bugged in my UI, but not all of them were on my minimap. Plus, with the different levels not seeming to make a difference, I wasn’t sure if they were above or below me. I understand and appreciate your pain, as I have no patience for the fools I encounter either, but give them the benefit of the doubt, please.

As far as profession trainers go, I did notice that only the trainers that I could use were marked on my mini-map. Turning my mini-map from “Find Herbs” to “Profession Trainers” was the first thing I did, because seriously, when is the last time there was an herb spawned right in the middle of the city? (I know that there’ll now be some screenshot of herbs in the city!)

They were not hard to find, I don’t know why people stink at using their minimaps, sometimes when I’m grouped with people they are like “Where did you go?” Duh, we’re on the mini-map, use it! Oy vey! Maybe it’s because I was a hunter first and so my mini-map was always filled with dots of something I was tracking, but seriously, I aggre with you Spoon, people are just lazy about it. I swear no one reads quests anymore either, they almost always tell you which general direction to head from where you are. Bam, you’ll find it.

I’ve discovered that the BT and HF general channels are just as bad as Barrens chat or the Trade channels. I have now left the general channels in those locations as well. Because I cannot tolerate it anymore…the first thing we saw in HF last night was something like “Crop circles were invented by Chuck Norris…”

    /leave 1
You have left the General channel.
    Amen.

So…someone just came up to me at work, and said, “Hey, do you know where the Horde LW trainer is in Borean Tundra? It seems that there isn’t one there.” I play Alliance, so normally I would have been all, “No idea.” but I was like SPOON TOLD ME YOU’RE AN IDIOT!! And then remembered the big red arrow and said, I think it’s east and to the north a little in some village that starts with a “T”.

    Thanks Spoon! :D

i think its unfair to call ppl searching for the leatherworking and skinning masters idiots. i mean u can search the whole ship, but theres no indication that the skinners and LWers are actually in the next town.

normally u would think the would be sequetered in some other place in the fortress like, how the mining trianer is with the blacksmiths and not upstairs where all the other professions are.

Doing some research to find this guy’s rant. I didn’t come to this website for some ‘god’s gift to wow northrend’ to tell people how much of an idiot they are.

If I was the website admin I certainly would not allow such irresponsible front page posting. Obviously you agree with the poster or you would not have put this rant on the first page of your site.

Welp I have nix’d this site to not come back as soon as this response is posted.

For those of us who like to have fun playing the game at our pace, disregard this pimply faced, drop out, no life ‘god of our universe’.

  9. Nobody in particulaer

I too like many other leatherworkers spent a while searching the horde northrend starting area for a trainer… not to be found, I have now uncovered an aweful lot of area, which I don’t mind as I got experience, but had missed the part of the map that had the trainer… Thanks to the big red arrow I am heading straight there… Mind you with my alliance chars, it was.. off the boat train and be merry whilst questing…

  10. Elgar

Oy…I didn’t expect this. Ha ha!

I too am a player that enjoys “the game at my own pace”. It’s one month later and I have yet to get any of my characters past level 72.

I take much pride in my professions and therefore did research before heading out to northrend to make sure I was able to locate all the trainers, etc. I would certainly take the time myself to find the things I was looking for rather than spam the general chat asking for the trainer.

And though I thought “hey this guys an idiot” inside I of course pointed the co-worker in the correct direction.

  11. A guy

Geez, don’t be a dick. The world is a much better place if we help each other. I spent a lot of time looking for the first aid trainer because she was on a different floor, yet the dot on the screen said she was right in front of me. So I didn’t get that. Sorry that that makes me stupid in your eyes.

  12. SilvertipMoon

He didn’t say you were an idiot because you couldn’t find something. He said you were an idiot if you didn’t even bother to try to find something. BIG difference. I have to agree with Spoon and some of the others. I couldn’t find the skinner or leatherworker trainer and being me instead of bothering people in general chat I went searching for the answers on my own…

By the way Spoon you get many Kudo’s for the big red arrow. I have two level 80 alliance charecters and none of them prepared me for searching northrend for two measly profession trainers. (I am not high enough yet to actually make it to the trainers alive on this charry they are so far away) But I know where they are when I do.

  13. Just me

Dude, you have a real bad attitude. I wonder if anyone returns here after reading this crap. I know I sure won’t be returning.

  14. Fox

    I really must admit I do agree with you, although it doesn’t just happen with expantions or new content. During the closing days of TBC I heard questions in shattrath about where the mailboxes were… I think the worst one was my partner Showing me ( I was stood behind her at the time ) a lvl 70 asking her where shattrath was -.-;

Still I really think it is a bad flaw and even poor management from the Orcs Point of view, although it reminds me alot of Azuremyst if you want to get your proffessions at lvl 5, Instead of having them all around Azure watch you have to run south to Odyessus’ landing or do a Quest to be able to talk to furbies to, once again, go get skinning / LW.

the odd things they do with the trainers in this game amazes me .. even worse are the players you meet sometimes I think.

Good luck in your travels Spooner !!

  15. DougyDude

I am with you on this. What really amazes me is that even if they can’t be bothered to use their eyes and a little common sense they could always switch to their desktop open a browser and bloody Google for the answer. At least that way loads of other players wouldn’t realise what a fuck wit they are :)

Discovery is what this game is about, a huge world to explore, beautifully designed.

At least some of us have the intellect to appreciate the game and play it as it was intended.

  16. lazydude

lmfao at all yall…..why do you care what people ask in general chat…..not much else going on in your lives or what…lol

  17. BEGirl

I would love to reproduce with you and create a small clan of ultra-sarcastic offspring.

  18. FkOff

    Thx for the info.
Wow what a sarcastic @$$Fuck tone you have.
