It’s been asked since the game first came out, why did Lady Sylvanas Windrunner (a High Elf) have the modle of a Night Elf? Well yeah obviously it was because there were no high elf (blood elf) models in game for Blizzard to work with. Well it should have changed in Burning Crusade but better late than never.

Since you are such a fan of the music in the game, have you, by chance, completed the quest “The Lady’s Necklace” ? At the end of the little chain, you go to her and she sings what I think to be quite a beautiful song. When I first did the quest I was very surprised and enjoyed the song so much, i went through the trouble to find out the lore and such behind the song.
Lament of the Highborn is one of my more favorite and memorable moments playing as horde post-BC. pre-bc we didn’t have much music like this
I liked the other model better : http://rrvs.blogspot.com/2008/05/wotlk-tier-7.html
more than anything I want to see her in Northrend laying down some crazy revenge all over the Scourge
I liked the old model more, more sinister. The new model is just too much alife. :’(
I hope they rework it again, she shouldnt be night elf = true, but she shouldn’t be just another high/blood elf. She is something more and blood flow is no longer important for her.
I’ll agree that atm she looks too blood elf like. The hair does not say “queen of the forsaken” to me, but at least she’s not a night elf model.
“We are the Forsaken. We will slaughter anyone who stands in our way.”
*bounces*
I’m looking forward to some crazy bloody revenge myself. Oh, the vindictiveness of woman…
Arthas: Finish me, then.
Sylvanas: A quick death…like the one you gave me? No. You’re going to suffer as I did. Thanks to my arrow, you can’t even run. Give my regards to hell, you son of a bitch.
haha, great moments in WC3: The Frozen Throne
She needs to be tweaked a bit maybe given the death knight blue glow in the eyes and less bloody red eyeshadow. Put a hood on her with the darkly glow and call it a day
I agree. She is much too pretty, darn near cute, in the WotLK model. She doesn’t exactly strike fear and respect into the heart of the forsaken. The cute hopping doesn’t help much either. More of a death knight brooding look would do her some good.
Very very upset with this change; it looks awful.
I can understand that the Night Elf model didn’t make sense *bounce idle bounce* but it still was a whole lot more fitting than this. This is sad.
She’s cute now, oh well…. I hear the same argument everywhere I go. “At least shes not a night elf *bounce bounce* anymore, but WHY ISNT SHE MORE SCARY?!”
I say get over it and be happy shes the right model (even if the textures and colors may be wrong).
Leave it to the Goth kids to think that THIS version of Sylvanas looks “cute”. It must be her Gidget haircut, makes her look like one of the girls poolside at the Playboy mansion back in the 60’s, or like a Bond Girl. Maybe if you gave her more of a standard dominatrix A-line or Betty Page hairstyle with thinner, more severe facial features she’d fit the ideal. But in defense of Blizz, which I rarely do, when you see her in game, up close (and you can on the PTR) she looks PISSED AS HELL. She looks around the room like she’s actually going to snap and kill someone. Must be the red eyes and eyeliner.
