Elemental Shaman Pre-Wrath of the Lich King
Honestly, I find elemental boring as piss. Even in PVP though I spent a very long time as elemental when I was actively PVPing back in Classic WoW. In BC it was kind of the bastard child of the class. The spec that was essentially locked down/out for PVE and couldn’t really compete with the ability to gel ina raid like enhancement or resto. Right now with 3.0.2 the spec is still pretty much bleh, but as soon as you hit 75 and get Lava Burst that’s supposed to change. Some people aren’t as patient:
Chill out. Nobody said Elemental was useless until 75. All I said was that your damage wasn’t quite as high as other ranged dps at 70. Your ability to level, do instances or even raid at 70 aren’t really compromised. (src)
Personally, GC should have told that shaman to shut the fuck up but I guess chill out works too.
the guy raises a valid point. nobody wants to be underpowered until a super high lvl.
he does indeed make a point but it’s too extreme imo. so basically he’s going to be underpowered only when compared to other classes, so this is underpowered in the raid game not the leveling or pvp game. and even then there’s all of 20 or so days until the expansion comes out and then raiding in BC won’t mean jack.
ultimately, this is an overreaction, and calling the dev’s stupid on the beta forums where you’re 100% guaranteed they’re reading; isn’t the smartest way to raise concern
70-75 is leveling, and being underpowered compared to other classes will hurt that leveling process. But yeah calling them stupid is silly.
well yeah I get the gripe but the class isn’t broken by any means or useless. That’s what a lot of people think and makes them feel bad about their class, that leads to disenchantment with the game.
If people would play the class and judge based on PVE and PVP experiences and results without going to a different class for comparison, they’d find themselves not as angry I think.
I guess it doesn’t matter since the only people who play elemental shamans have 4 more identical shamans casting and moving in unison.

As of last patch Ret pally’s, Rogue’s, Druids are way over powered. Now I’m an easy kill in pvp….root, stun etc. and no way to even get one spell off. Raiding now I’m about 8th on the list……before patch 4th….playing a druid now.
