Rogues typically lack an AE attack, which although would be a nice perk, doesn’t really fit the Rogue kit for me. People typically think of an AE as something that has range to it likeĀ Volley or Arcane Explosion but Rogues being a melee class I would expect something more like Whirlwind or Divine Storm. Still I can’t imagine it hurting game balance at all to have Rogues being able to spend their energy on an AE attack rather than more powerful single target attacks. This of course ignoring Combat Rogues that already have some slight form of AE with Blade Flurry and Killing Spree.
Fan of Knives cooldown removed in the future?
We think we are going to remove the cooldown of Fan of Knives altogether. There are just too many PvE situations where rogues feel at a disadvantage without a reliable ranged attack. The example that came up recently is Meathook in CoT:Stratholme and having the spawning zombies causing pushback on your healers. Rogues can FoK once and then have to run over to help the healer.
