Retribution Paladins NERFED TO THE GROUND LOL
Nah I’m just kidding, so is Ghostcrawler. I actually got on my paladin last night and got him to level 69 in about 12 mintues, felt great but REALLY overpowered considering my gear really is, complete shit. I can only imagine what fully geared ret. paladins are doing right now and how they love it, but ultimately it shouldn’t be so. Kind of like a Platypus breeding with a Giraffe. “I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE!”
Since these threads seem to be proliferating, I figure’d I’d just start a new one. Here is a quick Q&A. (src)
Q: Is Ret OP?
A: Perhaps. We think Ret’s dps isn’t abnormally high in PvE, and may not even be high in PvP over the course of a long fight. Where we are worried is how much damage Ret can do up front. It’s also Holy damage, which isn’t a big deal when you’re considering a fully sundered mob, but can turn into a lot of damage in PvP.
Q: Are we going to nerf Ret?
A: TO THE GROUND BABY. Okay, not really, but sometimes I can’t resist. We’ll see how much that quote comes back to haunt me. We will probably be making some changes soon, perhaps even hotfixes. We want to be very surgical about what we do. We don’t want to overdo it, and we don’t want to hurt their sustained PvE damage. When we’ve decided, I’ll make sure you all know.
Q: Why did it take us this long to admit there was a problem when EVERYONE knew about it?
A: A couple of weeks ago there were some bugs with weapon equipping that caused some problems that of course were being exploited. We didn’t want to nerf Ret TO THE GROUND BABY only to discover that the weapon problem was causing 90% of it.
Q: Enough about Ret. Unholy death knights are worse!
A: That wasn’t a question, but we think we have Unholy in a better place now. We made some changes to a few deep talents (that the DK community is already aware of, so don’t fret) to get Unholy’s dps more in line. Also, you aren’t going to see any PvP DKs for a long time, so we need to focus on paladins for now.

Ok, ret dps is almost inline. That rogues are QQing about being killed while stunned makes me laugh.
Ret healing is absolutely silly atm. Bliz should nerf the spell power from AP (talented) and adjust damage coeficients up to compensate about 85% of what it is now. Hammer of Death (er Wrath) should be 30% hp usable, not 35%.
Ret isnt outrageous OP. It’s just that for ALL of TBC, wow forgot Paladin is a melee hybrid class (ie, tank/ret) and now cant believe ret is so tasty.

yeah in the end it’s all just QQ but frankly, my ret paladin Spoøner is in shit gear (go ahead and armory him) and I am killing anybody and everybody who doesn’t fuck my HP in the first 10 seconds of the fight. The hardest opponent so far has been a full season 3 warrior I just ATE
but I’m not complaining, leveling is now actually viable and less of an anal grind as a paladin
I´m a 70 hunter, 7000 armor, 12 k health and 306 res – a pally hit me for 12600 in 2.6 sec… Ridiculous – and in the bgs last night the top three often were ret palas. I heard about a guy soloing durn, ramp, bf without a prob…
Are blizz gonna do anything about it? NO -they say it evens out at 80 – so lol
Ok, I’m a ret pally and now that I am 80 there is close to nothing for peeps to QQ about as far as ret goes. Hell I’m about 50/50 for duels and 50/50 for arenas. so, yeah, it does all equal out at 80
@ Diamondleaf – so what you’re saying is that you suck at playing a Retardin.
Those super paladins mentioned here and there are a few guys who played arena or did instances and got the gear to max, adjusted and respecced 100s of times, duel several hours and just hate to lose.
I hope Blizzard make a good final paladin soon.
And I want to thank Blizzard about arena points starting at 0, and somewhat nerfing the source of giving (gear) boosts to people with no skill.
im sorry but ret pallys are total BS in pvp.. i got a hunter with 600 resi 4.9k ap 27k health (buffed) and rets kill me in seconds… literlly goes 4k 5k 5k 5k hammer of rofl=dead and ive hit them for about 8k at most if my ES crits… they hand of highcooldown my concussive shot laugh at my traps heal through.. even if i get em low they bubble or LoH just to kill me.. its utter bollocks and this ISNT balanced by any means id happily face 10 rogues on a destro warlock than a pally on any of my other toons something needs to be done because im fed up with alot of the wow community accepting overpowered classes in pvp… the game will lose alot of subscribers if some stuff doesnt change. this isn’t acceptable and isnt fair on those that can play their class well but are facerolled in 4 keys by a loladin.
I am so sick of people complaining about ret paladins being OP they ARENT and ill give you a few reasons why
1.) If ur a hunter or a shamm or any class other than a prot warrior you can probably beat them if you know how to play your class
2.) All of our Cds are on 5 ,6 ,7 second cooldowns! wth and u complain about us when all urs are on global!
3.) Our “panic button” Lay on hadns isnt even usable in arena! And our bubble can be broken by shattering throw or mass dispel mass dispel is on a half sec cast!
4.) In pvp we dont “pwn” people! Not unless u suck balls at playing ur character! I mean really all you guys act like 600 resil is awesome are u kidding me? Try 1k then see if a pally rips you apart!
5.) The only reason a ret should beat a hunter in pvp is eaither the hunter sucks or they dont have a pvp trinket! I mean think about it! ex.) Ret paladin vs marks hunter 24k paladin full deadly hunter 22k full deadly ok so the pally stuns hunter trinks and disengage and concussive shot and fires from afar the paladin uses hand of freedom and gets out then the hunter puts down freezing trap and runs away then pally is coming back and the hunter scatter shots and wowo the hunter gets farther away and kills the ‘”OP” paladin. A PALADIN IS BEATABLE IF U KNOW HOW TO PLAY!!!

In regular World of Warcraft b4 expansions they sucked so badly everyone stomped them! Then BC comes out and we still arent as strong as the other classes all we got for ret was a crusader strike then Wrath of the lich king comes out and we are messing stuff up and everyone complains i mean wth

A good indication that pala’s are OP is that you’re actually managing to beat people since you’re an idiot. Yes I can beat you if I put effort in but the point is that it shouldn’t take so much effort to beat a retard like you. Fuck off and go learn2play – just do your homework first, it seems you need the education.
Excuse me for defending my class 1st of all im furious/relentless geared so i can easily kill people. Seeing as almost no one has that gear. And you are a dumbass for saying that i QQ when all i am doing is defending my class against stupid people like you who obviously dont know how to play your class. If you need to try really hard to beat a paladin then you are doing something wrong god forbid that right? So why not learning to play then dueling a paladin. I mean most paladins dont even know how to play i on the other hand do. I still lose to some classes. for example. Elemental shammans with BL up the just screw me over with there damage output i do not lose to rogues. (I’m in holy BTW dont use ret) Or warriors warlocks can sometimes get me. Druids cant kill me worth crap unless they are geared. Hunters can do preety well vs me as holy because of aimed shot and silencing shot. DKs that are and spec other than frost i cannot beat simply becuase they are the counter to pallys and for you who say they arent go roll a DK and see. Priests just mana burn the hell out of me. Mages that are frost are hard to beat but i can sometimes. Arcane is hard to beat. So eagleEyeBob go L2P when you do we can hae this disscusion but until then go play with ur freaking lego’s or what ever you do. And unless someone here knows why people QQ about paladins please tell me. And you name all the classes they can pwn easily But the rule is that person needs to know how to play! otherwise dont waste my time
