Loot QQ: Greed (the weapon)

I’ve run heroic Culling of Stratholme a quite a few times already and everytime a shaman comes along regardless of spec, this bad boy brings up cries of anguish and frustration. So today’s Loot QQ is all about Greed.

Aside from being one the most awesome looking weapons in the game, it’s one of the best in slot items for an enhancement shaman pre-raiding. With a 2.60 speed it sits at the sweet spot for windfury on the main-hand, and it has ample attack power in the form of agility and raw bonus. Even the low-high end damage of the weapon is impressive, my one gripe would be the armor penetration since I’m not 100% sold on the idea.

If you have a warrior tanking in the group then armor penetration suddenly becomes a really crappy stat. If they replaced the armor pen. with say, hit rating, then you have yourself a real contender!

Only way to get it off the chest that unlocks after defeating Heroic mode Malganis. Wowhead says a 10% drop rate but I’ve seen this drop one single time and never again.

It’s a funky situation but this item is really very comparable to the epic fist drop from normal mode Obsidian Sanctum’s Crimson Steel. You can look at the compare chart I scored from wowhead but unless you’re hit capped I’d go with the raid drop. If you are hit capped then you’re getting much more from Greed.
