In Wrath of the Lich King we’ve got two new types of Heroic Badges that you get from either doing raids or heroic 5-man instances. Now there’s a direct difference between the type that drop in 25-man raids (or HEROIC raids) and the kind dropping in 10-man raids.
I guess the easiest way to explain it is you have 5-man dungeons, then the same 5-mans on heroic mode. Then there’s 10-man raids, and the same 10-man raids on heroic mode which allow 25-players.
Emblem of Heroism: Drops in 10-man raids (normal mode Naxx, Malygos, etc) AND in 5-man dungeons (heroic mode)
Emblem of Valor: Drops in 25-man raids (heroic mode raids)
The list of gear you can get from them is freaking MASSIVE but safe to say that you can buy at least 2 pieces of T7 armor for badges. Each type by the way. You can also buy LOTS of the heirloom weapons and armor (the stuff meant for alts and twinks that are account bound) but you can buy them for Stone Keeper Shards too but more on that tomorrow.
