I have to say this is a really nice looking instance. Very colorful and bright, it just feels like a massive place. The art department alone outdid themselves on these new instances. They all really feel like it was some one’s full time job for months and months just to make sure when you look around you say “wow”
Now on to the fights (there actually mobs and bosses here too)
Trash is pretty straight forward, you shouldn’t even have to use much CC if at all to get the bosses. Most groups will just AoE it all down.
The bosses are like nothing you have ever seen before. The high-poly models with mosaic looking skins are a thing of the past. Each boss has a very distinct and high quality look. You can see very few poly breaks and very view collision problems with the boss’s movements. It looks like a very good quality cartoon character was drawn in to match what you are doing to the boss.
Grand Magus Telestra:
Phase 1: this is all about staying away from the firebomb person and healing some AoE damage. She also casts Gravity Well, which will send a beam to every player and throw them around the room while inflicting shadow damage. Just tank her on one side of the room and dps from the other side.
Phase 2: at 50% she will split into 3 forms, Frost, Fire, and Arcane. Fire will cast scorch on random players and melee the tank, frost will cast Blizzard, Frostbolt, and Ice Lance, and the Arcane cast a party wide stun and can sheep a member of the group. Kill the arcane quickly then fire and finally frost. The whole party will be taking some damage during this so hots and quick heals you should be fine. If you can CC one make it is the frost or arcane , don’t want your healer getting stunned or sheeped when everyone it taking damage.
Anomalus
This boss is very much like the last boss in heroic Steam Vaults. Dps him until he focuses on a rift, then quickly shift to the rift and kill it. If you take too long on the rift mana wraiths will come out of it and need to be tanked. They die fairly quickly but can be avoided if everyone dps’s the rifts. Otherwise tank and spank.
Ormorok the Tree-Shaper
Pretty simple fight also, just avoid the crystals that come from his feet. If one throws you in the air you will take 7500 damage and then take some fall damage on the way back down. Avoid the crystals as much as possible and stay spread out. Treat the crystals like flame trails and try not to let them touch you. He also has a spell reflect that reflect the first 4 incoming spells so when you see it up cast DoTs. DO NOT CRIT YOURSELF WITH STARFIRE,CHAOS BOLT, PYROBLAST. Arcane missiles can hurt too, but are generally the best way to wear down his shield, just use rank 1 arcane missiles to avoid heavy damage.
Keristrasza
Casts a frostfire breath that adds a debuff to all party members. The debuff goes away as soon as you move so cast a few spells then jump/strafe to clear the debuff. Someone in the group will also get crystal chains that needs to be dispelled but isn’t a huge deal. It will root the person to the ground for 10 seconds and cause the debuff to stack up on that person. The debuff is called intense cold and will inflict a small amount of damage and slow attack/cast speed. It can stack up to 9 times so 1-2 stacks can be easy to ignore but at 8-9 it can start to hurt and seriously hinder the dps/healing. Tank should tank her facing away while the rest of the group stands at her side to avoid tail swipe.
Great fun instance, everyone should go check it out atleast once.

I ran The Nexus last night… i agree its one of the nicest looking instances ive seen in a while.. pretty straight forward to run.. we didnt look up strategy for it before hand… so it was kind of cool going into it not knowing how many bosses there were, what they did, or what to expect when we went in… it was a nice experiance…
on a side note.. you can walk right up to the last boss almost as soon as you walk in the door… but the other 3 bosses must be downed before you can use the orbs to access the final boss…
Ran this 3 times myself last night making a total (beta included) 23 times I have been through the nexus, still one of my FAVORITE instances in northrend
Each boss is a fresh new experience…
Telestra is a rather unique fight, if not for her spells (AoE frost-damage nova with temporary stun, splashing firebombs, and a Kaelesque gravity spell), then for her pandaren split skill. Thankfully, she’s cake in Kara Epics and T4/Badge gear.
Anomalus is similar in theory to Vexallus and Curator, though less forgiving as his Chaotic Rifts do AoE damage -and- summon adds. High burst DPS is required to kill the Rifts fast enough to damage the boss. He seems to speed up his Rift summons if you leave one alive too long. I swear I’ve seen him summon two to three in a row.
Omorok is easy and fun for everyone. Treat him like a Supremus without the volcanoes, added Spell Reflection and a flame trail you can quickly nip out of, and enjoy his shininess.
Keristrasza is my favorite fight, an interesting one that promotes fast casts, smart instant spells and quick hops and twitches of movement, combined with the usual smart-dragon-positioning of side-DPS. The chains only add to the fun (Dispel Glyph wins for Priests)
