This place is pretty ominous looking and and seemingly massive from the moment you walk in the door (zone in). The first thing you see is the Huge temple in front of you. Over to your left you see large sprawling platforms glowing with energy and……EEEEEEEEEEEKKKK Spiders webs. I have seen so many spiders in this expansion that I can’t even put my shoes on without checking them for little crawlies.
Once you clear some trash and make a turn down a staircase you meet the first boss. Another giant Bug.
Elder Nakox
Pretty straight forward and easy fight. He has a disease he cast every so often that is easily HoT’d through and does minimal melee damage to your tank. The hardest part of this fight, if you can call it hard, is the constant waves of adds he hatches from all around the room. They have just enough HP to be annoying and can really cause casters and especially your healer some problems. Nuke the adds down quick and the boss will drop on no time.
Prince Taldaram
Vampires!!!!! this guy can be tricky and has what Blizzard believes to be the “Count Dracula” abilities. He does some pretty quick melee damage that heals him for 1% when he hits you. That’s not a big deal when your casters should be hitting him for around 6-8% on every hit. He also cast a Flame Sphere which will follow a player around and hit him for very negligible damage but still needs to be avoided. And his signature move, Embrace of the Vampyr, which basically stuns the target and deals 1500-2500 shadow damage every 2 seconds for 20 seconds. The only way to stop this certain death ability is to deal 40,000 damage to the boss while he is channeling. Healing on the person being focused is irrelevant as all healing done to that person is reduced by 100%. So the fight basically boils down to a dps race. Kill him quick or he will suck your blood (I suggest stakes).
Jedoga Shadowseeker
The third boss, and probably the hardest boss in lich king I have come across is Jedoga Shadowseeker. This guy just looks like he is going to be a bitch on heroic (im trying it tonight i believe). He does a whirlwind move that hits pretty hard and a Lightning bolt that can go to random players, and also a hurricane ability but it is very weak. All these moves make him a fairly weak boss, until he levitates and calls forth one of the 20+ adds on the platform that are bubbled around him. When he calls one of these adds, that add is released from the bubble and goes to the vortex under Jedoga to sacrifice himself and make Jedoga become enraged. The adds cannot be CC’d or slowed or rooted. They move slowly but don’t have far to go. THEY MUST DIE BEFORE BEING SACRIFICED. If they are sacrificed the boss will enrage and 1 shot the majority of your group. He hit my tank once for 20k. He can also (and does frequently) cast his whirlwind right when he lands, so if enraged will 1 shot your whole group at once, at best will do a lot of damage to your melee so don’t rush in when he lands.
Herald Volazj
The last boss of this place and yet another really fun boss to fight. Except you don’t do a lot of fighting to the boss. He has an ability called Insanity, where in he will distort your reality and make you think your friends are your enemies. You have to kill yourself and your group a few times in order to kill the boss. They are really just mirror images but they are also slightly weaker than the real players. Keep in mind to always kill the healer image first, as even when insane they will heal the group (gotta love those dedicated healers). The boss himself is a joke. Very fun fight for the first time. When it happened to our group the first time we were like WTF?
