Sorry for starting so late today everybody. It’s a Saturday for one and I’m pretty tired from spending all night last night farming with groups for the Brewfest Kodo mount. Yeah I know I’m Horde and should just go buy a kodo but the Brewfest one is just better. Trust me. Least I got a nice trinket out of it, and damn near broke my video card from all the binge blurred drinking.
Anyway here’s the low down on Brewfest this year since a lot has changed.
- There are tokens now instead of tickets. The don’t have a duration anymore so I imagine this will be used for the new token storage system Blizzard is giving us in WotLK
- There’s a new boss event in the Grim Guzzler (the bar in Black Rock Depths) but no worries, there’s a new tunnel at the very entrance to the instance that will take you right there. He drops some nice loot: Direbrew’s Remote, Empty Mug of Direbrew, Direbrew Hops, Coren’s Lucky Coin, Dark Iron Smoking Pipe, as well as a dagger that brings back Shanker memories; Direbrew’s Shanker. He also drops a trinket that summons bar wenches to throw beer at you and heals the party like a moving healing stream totem. Also adds 45 stamina. Brightbrew Charm or Balebrew Charm
- Coren Direbrew can be killed once a day but just like the headless horseman, you can fight him many times as long as others start the event. He doesn’t hit TOO hard for a 73 elite, just ignore the adds and watch out for his whirlwind disarm. Occassionaly, tunnelers will pop out of the ground to throw more weak adds and knock you into the air, nothing to worry about.
- There are mounts you can get from the event but they only drop off Coren. The Great Brewfest Kodo and the Swift Brewfest Ram.
Also, the steins are still being sold.
Celebrate Brewfest this year in style with an epic collection of World of Warcraft-themed steins. These limited-edition stoneware steins feature panoramic bas-relief illustrations by Blizzard Entertainment artists Samwise Didier and Glenn Rane. The 11″-tall steins are hand-crafted following a 500-year-old tradition, and are topped with an etched pewter lid. For more information, please visit www.3point.com.
