Weekend Wrapup: Built in Threat Meter in WotLK Beta, Dalaran Visual Upgrades, WotLK Arena
It’s another Monday and this weekend was pretty much a test of patience. In the wee hours of the morning I was able to find the time to hit Lv 64 on my Paladin and try out Seal of Blood, this thing is awesome. But time to get down to business as I have been pretty much absent all weekend long.
Threat Meter in the Default UI
There were hints a while ago by Bornakk that Blizzard wanted to integrate a threat meter like Omen into their default UI for raiders and 5-man dungeons and parties. Our dreams have come true and it seems that one is currently active and being tested and polished in the Wrath of the Lich King Beta. Currently though:
1. There is no menu to configure it.
2. Your % of threat is an event displayed in your floating combat text messages.
3. The mouseover tooltips are displaying your current % of threat.
Here are some images from WOR.
Dalaran has been Visually Upgraded
Just a little spit and polish but both factions now have a more detailed Battleground Room in Dalaran (one per faction in their own separate parts of town) though there are obviously bugs to be worked out and such as well as more polish to be applied.
Finally here is the first word on what’s going to happen with Arenas in WotLK
You will be able to continue rated arena matches at level 70, but there will be no new gear rewards in this bracket. Only skirmishes will be available from levels 71-79 but then at level 80 the rated matches will be available again. (src)
