The Daily Spoon: Shade of Aran’s got a new toy!
Now, I’m not sure if this has ever happened before but i imagine it must have. Otherwise this is a pretty interesting and somewhat funny bug.
A little while after Patch 2.4 me and my friends got together for a quickie Kara run to farm up some badges and shards. We get to Shade of Aran and halfway through the buffing we notice he has a rather large hammer now. There was a lot of “WTF!” and laughter, so we started the fight. Pictures and such after the cut.
Odd as it may seem he actually started to melee a lot more often. He would cast a frost or fire spell then start whacking away two or three times then back to casting. We downed him before he managed to spawn the elementals but that was just plain weird. Here’s the screens.

We had a virtually identical mace drop from Aran this week in Kara, except our had a different “of the” extension (think it was bandit). We were quite confused why he had a green hammer as well….

I wonder what’d be like if mages could use hammers anyway…
Either way at least I know now we weren’t the only ones who have seen this. Very odd.

Though it could be a bug because we had some screwy infernal placements on the Prince fight as well…. it seemed that every infernal was set to drop on top of either the MT or the MH, so as soon as the spotter saw one coming we’d move the raid and watch as our previous position was now occupied by a flaming piece of rock.

oh yeah the infernals drop fast as all hell now for some reason. The fight seemed easier for us because the infernals dropped in about 2 seconds once they spawned in the air so it gave us a quicker notice as to where they were so we could move if needed.
My biggest gripe was with the insanely retarded Chess event that teleported half our raid to curator or even disconnected some people.
