The Daily Spoon: Goodbye 2008

I want to say it’s been roses this year but honestly, it’s been more of a test from the powers that be to see how long we can stand on our own two feet before all sense is lost in favor of panic. Still, as this year comes to a close there is so much hope and things to be thankful for.

I started this website as an Alliance Warrior turned Shaman way back in February. I was posting 10 or more topics a day and the site was as basic as most blogs can get. I remember being so excited that I had 40 people view the site within the first month. Sometime around June those 40 turned into 40,000. Then again around Blizzcon the numbers skyrocketed, we were elated to say the least. I sit before you now back to my roots as a Paladin and as a member of the mighty Horde.

Finances and stress have been running rampant for the past two months though and as a result I feel dissatisfied with my own work. I envisioned more for this place and I promise to bring it back to where it should be in 2009.

I just wanted to take some time to be serious and thank all of you readers who have been here from the very start, posting regularly or sending in questions through email or the contact form (I’m looking at you Bill). For those of you just landing on this site from a friend’s advice or maybe a search engine I want to say welcome, and you showed up at a very good time.

Expect a lot in 2009. More contests, new layout, more features, less bullcrap, more spooning. Also I got mah helm!
