March 4th 2008, the father of modern RPG passed away.
It was a very sad day in the gaming world yesterday, I apologize that i was unable to post this information right away.
The father of modern day roleplaying game, Gary Gygax, passed away earlier today from what appears to be an aortic aneurysm. He was age 69.
Gary helped shape the gaming genre with miniatures games, like Chainmail, and the ever-popular Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game. He was active in the gaming industry right up to his death.
Boing Boing reprinted a 2003 interview with Gary Gygax, in his memory.
“I would like the world to remember me as the guy who really enjoyed playing games and sharing his knowledge and his fun pastimes with everybody else.â€
