The Deathknell for WAR

Well I can say now that WAR has been officially shit-canned.

Mythic was hit recently with about 80 layoffs reducing their development team by almost half. This news was rumored and confirmed earlier this week and personally, I’m thinking that WAR’s servers will be done sometime soon. The game itself never really held any appeal for me and I still stand by my statement that if they had released an MMO held in the Warhammer 40k universe that it would have been infinitely more successful than another supposed “WoW killer”.

To make matters worse for profits, you can now pretty much play WAR for free, forever. It seems that Mythic is trying everything they can to save face after the complete publicity shit-storm that went down during the early months of their release. I blame that British accented asshole in all those interviews and videos that seemed way too coked up to be talking in front of a camera.
