Left 4 Dead 2 Review

I reviewed Left 4 Dead 2 and put the video up on the internet, by all means give it a watch and leave some feedback.

I’d rate the game as a definite buy if you like FPS games and happen to enjoy zombies in any capacity. There are other shooters out there now that are competitive online but honestly – they’re full of 12 year old prepubescents crying over xbox Live.

The Daily Fap: School’s back in session

I have nothing clever or awesome to say here. But let’s just take a moment and remember high-school. Those were some of the most haze filled and debaucherous times of my life, nothing made those 4 years pass by quicker than the unbelievably hot girls that attended my school. Hell we didn’t have a uniform policy in high-school at all but damned if every single Halloween wasn’t completely full of skimpy barely-there skirts and thigh high socks.

Aion Head-start: Butt-hurt and Blasphemy

Cliche time, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. These here might just be a few hundred. Enjoy~

First you have to wait. I got into the server in about 20 seconds in the early afternoon, then I had to log off for a bit. Big mistake.

These 3 images are from me and Nycterra (my beautiful wife) showing just how packed the starting area was at first. Keep in mind there were 10 instanced “channels” just as packed if not more.

Then came the lag and rubber banding. Rubber banding is when you run off, then suddenly you teleport back to where you just came from. Quotes of the night:

• I WILL CROSS THIS BRIDGE DAMMIT!
• Hey the lag is gone…

You’re reading that right, over 9 million latency – from less than 100 in about 20 seconds. THAT is a lag spike, none of that pussy shit we’re used to. It evened out pretty smooth after that spike, apparently our server (Azphel) was suffering some funkiness and it was fixed.

And with lag, comes death… lots of death. Death where you can’t even release and you sit there eating the dirt looking angry… very angry. But recovery comes, and then you get to vent all that frustration on the local wildlife.

My Aion: Other games could learn a lesson…

This whole “My Aion” system is pretty robust and incredible. With your Aion game account you have access to an entire arsenal of features and services that enhance the game when you’re offline. I mean sure ok the whole Armory thing is fine for fueling forum wars, but there really isn’t any real functionality that I could give a crap about. Let’s see how Aion does things differently than what we’re all used to.

Real Server Status!

It doesn’t just say when a server is up or down oh no, you can check the exact population balance of classes and factions on your server any day of the week as well as what their levels are. This is an awesome tool to see if there are tons of high level players on a server or what faction is overpopulated and so forth. Honestly when picking a new server to play on (looking for a fresh start or whatever) it would have been fucking amazing to have this information in WoW.

On top of everything you can check your server and see all the Legion rankings like who’s the biggest PvP guild etc. And individuals, highest level player on the server, biggest PvP badass, and so forth.

Real Character Updates!

So you want to see a charted history of your character’s progression? Done, you can see how you leveled and when you leveled as well as Abyss rankings and other stats. Want to see what’s waiting for you in your in-game mailbox? Done! How about pending auction sales? DONE! You can even leave notes and commentary on other people’s character profiles or your own.

I love this shit.

And everything else…

Your character’s armory page is pretty much your exact character profile from the game UI complete with 3D character modeling, and it’s ACCURATE to how you customized your character. The forums are pretty standard with server forums and general, news/announcements, etc. Finally the item database is set, you can use that one or the Curse database.

Did I mention they have an image forum, powerwiki (think like a mega guide to the game), known issues and bug forum that works, as well as individual class forums? Yeah some of this we’re used to but I like the concept of a forum dedicated to screenshots, another to unique characters.
