For the Lore Double-header (Ep. 006-007)

I really need to stop being so fucking lazy. Well maybe it’s not so much lazy as it is distracted, I swear it’s like a shiny tit will fly by and cause me to completely forget what it was I was -
Right so where was I? Yes, ok so that little show I kept telling you guys I am a part of is still plugging on and so help me I’m going to start pushing it on this site like a finely shaped ass.
We had a long night on Monday and recorded 2 episodes live at our USTREAM Page of which both are now available for download. We had Max Schaefer, Travis Baldree, Jason Beck, and John Dunbar of Runic Games (the minds behind Diablo & Diablo 2 as well as the current smash Torchlight). As well as a pretty big feature on Borderlands.
Do yourself a favor and check it out, we do the show live every Monday at 6:45PM EST. You can check it out right now via iTunes or through two direct links (Episode 006 & 007) that Roger has put up.

I don’t typically do this, and frankly I’ve never done this on my site. I’m a man of many musical tastes. One thing I’ve noticed is the ultimate ingredient in bringing people together is music. Regardless of your taste or background, the right song evoking the right memory and feeling can do amazing things to your spirit. I always send links to songs or artist names to friends and I’d like to try doing it just once here.
My friend Roger from WoWDawgs and our For the Lore podcast also happens to run a podcast devoted to helping out independent musicians get some air time. I’ve been listening to his “The Vinyl Experience” podcast for a while now and one artist in particular really struck me. The artist’s name is Andy Mac.
For a little sample of his music, you can check out his MySpace page here: http://www.myspace.com/andymac
If you have a passion for music in the slightest, I’d recommend listening to the Vinyl Experience and opening your mind a little. You might be pleasantly surprised by the quality of talent out there in the world, I know I was.

For the Lore Podcast is LIVE!
I’ve been sitting on this news for a little bit now, but Roger’s made the initial announcement, time for me to catch up.
So I was approached by Roger from WoW Dawgs (a very awesome podcast) to co-host a new podcast involving Lore across various different video games. The other host is Joe from World of Matticus, another wonderful blog and a great writer. Never one to shy from the podium, I accepted. It’s humbling to be working side by side with two esteemed and experienced people in a field I know pretty much jack shit about.
So far though, it looks like an incredible ride and I hope that I see hundreds of Spooncraft readers hitting up the show’s LIVE recordings every other Monday at 7PM EST.
Here’s the first show post:
Read MoreOn Monday the 14th, Joe, Enrique and myself got together online around 6:15PM EST, and wrestled with UStream till we finally got it to stream the first episode of the For The Lore podcast.
It was important for us to get the live stream working. It had been something that we’d promised and quite frankly, stubbornness kicked in at one point, at least for me… and there was no way we were progressing without that damn thing working.
Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long. By 7:10, an AH-HA moment occurred and I realized what I needed to do in order to get this working. Ironically, the solution was not software based (making the best of the apps on my MacBook), but rather as simple as a headphone jack splitter.
I won’t bore you with the details. Suffice it to say that if you make it through the podcast to the outtakes at the end, you will hear me dancing… and I truly was dancing.
This being the first episode of the podcast, we did want it to be epic in nature. Of course we hadn’t expected to be recording for three hours either. Those who joined us live got a lot more than we’d expected. The thing is, we were having SO much fun (well, except for Joe who was late for his raid).
I edited the podcast down the 2 hours, 10 minutes. This is still a very, very long podcast, however I’d suggest pacing it out, as the next one will not be recorded for two weeks. Also, I added chapters to the podcast, to make it easier to skip around.
We covered a lot in the show. If you are at all interested in Aion (which I constantly mispronounce) or Champions Online, you will definitely want to tune into this bits. We obviously also discussed World of Warcraft. With the Apple event just past, we were also able to discuss the path that Apple is now taking with touting the iPod Touch as a gaming platform of choice for handhelds.
Considering all the technical issues, I maintain this was one hell of an epic podcast. Perhaps a little too much wine was consumed, however it just added to the night. Sadly there are probably screenshots floating around of me now that are not so flattering.
You can find the podcast here to download directly. The iTunes submission was only just made, and so had not gone through yet. Once it does, I will edit this post with that information.
Make certain to tune in on the 28th, at 6:45PM EST for the pre-show. Details with the UStream address will be posted on that day.
I would like to take a moment to thank Maneli Jamal for allowing me to use his incredible music for the podcast. I forgot to thank him within the podcast, however I’ll not make that mistake again. Maneli is an amazing musician. I had the great pleasure of interviewing him for The Vinyl Experience, my indie music podcast, and he is a fascinating man.
