Midsummer hotfixes reset the quests

Midsummer hotfixes reset the quests

midsummer-fire-festival-achievements1Hey congratulations folks who did the Midsummer stuff last year and have felt screwed this year. Blizzard has applied a little fix on the servers that reset the quests so players regain access to all those blossoms. You need something like 400 of them to purchase all the gear required for the hot pole dance meta.

We are in the process of applying an in-game fix that will restart all of the quests associated with the Midsummer Fire Festival event and allow players to complete them once again. If you are in the process of completing an achievement such as Extinguishing Kalimdor, this fix will reset your progress and you will need start over. This fix will require realms to be restarted.

Midsummer Festival: Currently Known Issues

Midsummer Festival: Currently Known Issues

midsummer-fire-festival-achievementsWell, its some good news for a few guildies of mine that did Midsummer achievements last year and are running into a little bit of a problem with Blossoms; Blizzard is working on it. The quests should have been reset so that regardless if you did them last year or not you should still be able to get blossoms from honoring the flames and desecrating the fires, that issue is currently being worked on. As for the fire crown not retroactively granting the fire king achievement, this should have been applied when the achievement system went live since the event ended (last year) before the Wrath patch/launch.

Greetings!

While the Midsummer Fire Festival event has begun, we wanted to take some time to explain that there are some currently known issues with the Festival, and to let the community know that we are working on resolving them.

The first issue, and what seems to be the most prevalent reported issue, is regarding gaining Fire Blossoms from fire quests that were completed last year. This affects the Honor the Fires and Desecrate the Fires quests, as they appear to have not reset from last year. We understand the concerns many players have about being able to obtain enough blossoms for this year to buy what they wish, and we are actively working on the issue.

Second, there have been many reports that the quest “Unusual Activity” has not reset from last year. This is being investigated by development.

In addition, we have had many players report that Crown of the Fire Festival from last year is not granting achievement credit for King of the Fire Festival. This appears to be a result of the quest not having been completed while the achievement system was live (as last Midsummer was before the achievement system was implemented). If it were to grant retroactive achievement for King of the Fire Festival, it would have been granted upon launch of the achievement system.

While we do apologize for any frustration, we want to actively assure the community that we are working on resolving these issues, and any others that may appear.

We will update this information as it becomes available. The thread will continue on our Customer Service Forum here: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17899684390&sid=1

You don’t really need a guide for this people, it’s common sense. You have to go to the Slave Pens after doing some pretty obvious bread crumb quests and take down the seasonal boss Ahune. So there’s that; you also have to visit just about every zone in the game where you can find a horde or alliance quest hub and either put out or touch a fire. Honestly people just look at the actual achievement, shift click the damn thing to track it. It tells you what zones you have to visit.

As for stealing the fire from the enemy faction capital cities, that’s simple enough as well. If you ride around for a bit. The hard part is typically getting out of the city in one piece, make a raid of it, hey do For the Horde (or Alliance) while you’re at it!

What I will advise is after you’re done with your achievements, get on that alt and start leveling! The exp buffs you get from flames during this holiday are insane.

Each summer, the arrival of the Midsummer Fire Festival (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/events/midsummer/) signals a time of merriment and a chance to revel in the hottest season of the year by lighting celebratory bonfires across the land and sharing in what the elemental spirits have to offer. This year (beginning Sunday, June 21st and continuing until July 5), the festival features achievements.
