Halls of Reflection

I will admit that Halls of Reflection wasn’t that bad but it was getting to the point of calling bullshit when you got a wave spawn having a Priest, 2 Mages, a Merc (Rogue), and a Footman (Warrior)  pretty much untankable and going bat-shit-crazy on your party over and over again. I haven’t yet stepped foot in Icecrown Citadel so I can’t comment on the lady Deathwhisper changes but it appears to be an across the board nerf to the encounter.

The Hellfire cast change for those trash pulls in the Pit of Saron is nice because those fuckers tend to blink next to a healer and start spamming hellfire as soon as you interrupt their fireball nuke, so you were screwed no matter what you did.

Blue post via Bornakk:

  • The Lady Deathwhisper encounter has seen the following changes in the 25 player normal version: mana pool has been reduced, the health on all adds has been reduced, and Adherents will wait a little longer after spawning before they start casting.
  • Interrupting a fireball being cast by the Ymirjar Flamebearers in normal and heroic Pit of Saron will no longer make them instantly cast Hellfire.
  • The ghost waves at the beginning of both normal and heroic Halls of Reflection have undergone several changes that should make them easier to defeat such as preventing 2 mages or 2 mercenaries from spawning in the 5 mob pulls, a shorter duration of the spectral footman’s shield bash, and the spectral mage’s flamestrike having a longer cast time, shorter duration, and (in heroic) doing less damage.
  • The Oculus loot improvements have been made.

A Preview of Icecrown

Kinaesthesia from Vodka (US-Alterac Mountains) has put together an epic trailer of the new  5-man dungeons in Icecrown Citadel. This whole trailer is pretty much built around the lore of the place, of which I am most deeply in love with. There are spoilers, but do you really care?

New Bosstiary for Icecrown Online

New Bosstiary for Icecrown Online

reflectionSup my fellow lore-nerds. Blizzard went ahead and added in a little character bio section like they have in the past for some of the bosses you’ll encounter in the Icecrown dungeons coming up in Patch 3.3.

We saw this heavily used when Ulduar first came out which was kind of nice because few people knew jack shit about the instance or it’s many encounters.

Anyway here’s the link, go check it out if you’d like some more fodder for that fan-fiction you’re writing. So far it’s just the three 5-man dungeons but I’m pretty damn sure we’ll see the raid put in soon after I post this.

Icecrown: Halls of Reflection Patch 3.3 PTR

Icecrown: Halls of Reflection Patch 3.3 PTR

hallsofreflection

Teza over at WoWraid posted up a really good video of the typical playthrough on the last wing of the new 5-man Dungeons coming in WoW Patch 3.3. This video contains heavy spoilers with major lore characters so don’t go bitching to me for ruining your story.

With Jaina and Sylvanas leading the way, adventurers who make it as far as these frigid halls will quickly recognize the weapon that lies ahead: Frostmourne, the corruptive, legendary device of the Lich King himself. The Lich King’s private chambers are within reach, although they may be the death of anyone who ventures there.

  • Falric and Marwyn: Captains for Arthas Menethil in life, Scourge commanders for the Lich King in death, Falric and Marwyn will be summoned to the Halls of Reflection for one purpose: destroying all intruders.
  • The Lich King: Sylvanas, thirsty for vengeance against the corrupted prince who sentenced her to an existence as an undead monstrosity, and Jaina, eager to find a flicker of Arthas’s soul locked somewhere within the Lich King, have brought their hand-picked allies to this final confrontation. Arthas’s true power may only now be discovered. Is there any hope in this mission, or does only death await?
