Official Patch 3.3 Confirmation for Dec. 8th (UPDATED)

Official Patch 3.3 Confirmation for Dec. 8th (UPDATED)

My ass is cold...

My ass is cold...

SERVERS ARE NOW COMING ONLINE but there’s a 99% chance you’re going to get stuck on the loading screen. Also send in any pictures of your baby corhound pup if you get one in the mail by chance. Spooner at spooncraft dot com.

So the people telling me yesterday that I was off-base and had no proof to backup my claim that Patch 3.3 was coming out today, I bet you feel pretty silly right now huh.

The servers last night were getting a little unstable and Zarhym announced the release of Patch 3.3: Fall of the Lich King. I had more news here and the entire patch notes but for some reason it has become broken and the post itself will not display. Anyway I hope your background downloaders were running in the past few weeks as mine was because that means the patch will take all of 6 minutes to download and install. The latest patch notes can always be found at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/.

Blizzard Launches WoW/Warcraft Anniversary Mini-site

Blizzard Launches WoW/Warcraft Anniversary Mini-site

wow 5-15 years

The video interview piece you’ll see has to be my favorite part of this little site that’s still in the process of launching. There’s a lot of missing content but the video interview with all the big heads in charge of the Warcraft universe more than makes up for it.

Over the past 15 years, a lot has changed in Azeroth. Valiant heroes have travelled the length and breadth of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, taken wing in Outland to free the Black Temple from Illidan’s clutches, and set sail for Northrend to battle the mighty Lich King. Whether you’ve been part of the adventure from the beginning or are just getting started now, we’re glad to have you with us for the five-year anniversary of World of Warcraft and the 15-year anniversary of the Warcraft series.

To commemorate these milestones, we’ve just launched the Warcraft anniversary website. There you’ll find video interviews featuring personal anecdotes from some of the shapers of Warcraft, as well as the Battlecry Mosaic where you can show off your faction pride. Visit the anniversary site now!

JACE HALL!

JACE HALL!

1532p_0c_ZoomBSo Jace Hall’s one of those internet superstar types that also has a sense of humor, plays the role of executive producer for great games and great TV alike. You want to be Jace Hall. JACE HALL.

Jace Hall had the chance to interview Tom Chilton (Kalgan), J. Allen Brack, and Jeffrey Kaplan (Tigole) and got a bunch of new details about the upcoming expansion and a few other things. Apparently the video is slightly old but was sent to official fansites only recently, it’s still worth watching.

This video honestly, is kind of why I like the Blizzard developers. I’ve shaken their hands at Blizzcon, I’ve enjoyed their games over the years, and they still have a sense of humor.

Somebody just got fired in Las Vegas

Somebody just got fired in Las Vegas

dingo 1Be it in Las Vegas or Anchorage Alaska, I’ll be going to Blizzcon in 2010 and I’ll be bringing one of you with me. It’s become somewhat of a tradition here at Spooncraft and I for one plan on seeing it through. It seems however that the Las Vegas Convention Center folks sent an email out claiming “human error” as to the announcement in their website.

Odds are the event will still be in Anaheim which sucks, but I’m used to the area enough that I could fucking live there at this point. As for Vegas, it might just be there after all and some fanboy working at the convention center in vegas blew his load too soon. Only time will tell, but fuck – I really wish I had an excuse to go to vegas.

In the meantime here’s my dog, vent away how much you hate me to him and I’ll eventually get the message.

WoW’s Fifth Anniversary Sweepstakes

WoW’s Fifth Anniversary Sweepstakes

5 years of WoW

Five years of WoW. After at least a few more months I’ll come back to Azeroth but for now, any longer and the whole world would have been reduced to ash under my immense burnout. That doesn’t mean I’m not following the game like a madman still, just not spending every waking moment on it like a lot of other folks.

So where do you fall in the following little list?

Just having an active account register’s you for the contest, here’s a list of all the prizes (which are actually pretty damn amazing):

First Week (Accounts created on or before October 26, 2008)
5 Taverncraft “Charge of the Great Dragonflights” stein.

Second Week (Accounts created on or before November 2, 2007)
5 Gunnar Optiks PPK Gaming Glasses (strangely enough with a lower retail value than the steins…)

Third Week (Accounts created on or before November 9, 2006)
7 ASUS ENGTS250 DK/DI/1GD3 video card.

Fourth Week (Accounts created on or before November 16, 2005) THIS WOULD BE WHERE I FALL SINCE I CREATED MY OWN ACCOUNT 12/18/04
5 Prize packages consisting of 1 SteelSeries QcK Limited Edition Mousepad, 1 SteelSeries World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse, and 1 SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Headset.

Fifth Week (Accounts created on or before November 23, 2004)

  • 3 Prize packages consisting of 1 ASUS ENGTX260/HTDI/896M Nvidia video card, 1 Game Card redeemable for one year of World of Warcraft game time, and 1 Autographed Onyxia Print with an approximate retail value of $19.99.
