Baron Soosdon: Looking Back No More

Long time readers of my site know I have a man-crush on Baron Soosdon. The guy is funny and possibly the most talented person I’ve ever seen. His work always strikes gold and there isn’t a single piece of his machinima that doesn’t entertain me. It helps as always that we have downright identical taste in music and humor (and if you’re reading this Soos I suggest you check out Caspa and Rusko if you’re liking dubstep).

Anyway here’s his description of the video, I really hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

This is my first ever Aion machinima, but it might be the last too. My subscription to Aion has ended, and I do not plan on renewing it unless the game gets some nice updates.

The video is done in the style of my Unlimited Escapism (World of Warcraft) videos, but with more music video-styled editing.

Making Aion machinima is currently only limited to ingame filming since there is no model viewer of any kind.

Kungen & Tjani of Ensidia talk Aion

Maybe you guys have heard of a little guild called Ensidia? Minor achievements like the first player in the world to reach Lv 60 in the original WoW as well as the world first full clear and Kel’thuzad kill in 40man Naxxramas before Burning crusade came out. You know, back when world firsts were something to behold and not just an afterthought.

Anyway, two major players in the MMO world (Kungen and Tjani) were at Gamescom over the weekend and were interviews on stage taking questions from the Aion community about Ensidia’s involvement in the game.

Aion: Elyos Prologue

When you make a new character you get a prologue after creation when you enter for world for the first time. This is the Elyos introduction cut-scene. The Elyos have indulged in the bounty of their world. The South, Elysea, is warm and bright. The Elyos look just as they did when humans first came to be with a variety of sun kissed skin tones and gorgeous architecture. Their world is full of pristine beaches, lush forests, humid swamps and arid deserts.

Lorewise, both factions blame and hate each other for the destruction of the Tower of Eternity and the shattering of their world. This game is steeped in the heart of a Holy War between the Asmodians from the North and the Elyos from the south, both willing to do anything to claim this world as their own and to destroy the Balaur in the process.

Aion: Asmodian Prologue

When you make a new character you get a prologue after creation when you enter for world for the first time. This is the Asmodian introduction cut-scene. The Asmodians have pale skin, long furry manes, claws, and their eyes glow red during combat. They changed this way as a direct result of being forced to live in the harsh and dark Northern reaches of the world, Asmodae. Their world is unforgiving but beautiful, bathed in twilight and tundra.

Ganking in the Aion Arena: There’s always a bigger fish!

I promise I’ll get some real PvP footage online for you guys soon. I took this short clip while screwing around in the first 20 minutes of the servers going online last weekend for CB5. I was trying to spend more time leveling so I can show you guys the Abyss but I didn’t get that far yet.

I’ll have rifting videos as well as tons of Abyss stuff coming very soon, in the meantime you can watch me downright spank a lowbie Assassin in the arena. Rule of thumb for Aion: Don’t enter the free-for-all arena unless you want to fight.
