No plans to remove Spell pushback

Bornakk replied to this post regarding complaints about spell pushback. Personally it just seems like he took some obvious troll bait and will be kicking himself for it later.

Q u o t e:
This is absurd, caster cannot cast any decent spell because 2 rogues are keeping their cast bar at essentially 0

When you are outnumbered 2 to 1, it can be difficult to win. Hopefully you have some party members nearby to help you out. (src)

I’d have to say that casters (having played one too) really don’t have it as bad as most will say. Spell pushback isn’t really that big a deal. So you can get locked down by multiple melee classes wailing on your face, welcome to the rest of the game. You’re not a special and unique snowflake, everyody gets locked down by melee classes if you’re being hit by two or more.

So a hunter and his pet are cheesing you from 40 yards away and stopping you from getting any casts out, ok I’ll hand you this one. A ranged class can make another ranged class less effective. There is the matter of classes though really, the three main casters are priests, mages, and warlocks. Although paladins and shaman and even druids fit into the equation but not 100% of their abilities are spells.

Warlocks complaining about hunter pets going after them need to rethink what they’re saying as they pretty much do the same thing to other casters with a felhunter or felguard. Mages, you could have ice barrier up, molten armor setting off the impact stun proc on somebody, blinking away from melee after a frost nova or blinking towards a hunter and then frost nova (though with the deadzone pretty much gone this is less than effective). Priests are the only ones that I can really say have it kind of hard although through talents and the likes, getting a spell off isn’t that hard for a priest especially when you consider shadow word pain, psychic scream, and power word shield are instant cast anyways.

I’m not saying that spell pushback is a wonderful mechanic, but there has to be a tradeoff for being able to cause copious amounts of damage and control from a long range. Watch what happens when that one mage gets the drop on two melee classes instead of the other way around, it’s not so bad anymore. The moral of my rant being, spell pushback sucks yeah we get it, but casters aren’t rendered totally gimped and helpless by a mechanic that has been in the game since beta going on 4 years ago.
