I’m not that big a fan of the whole Arena thing. It’s fun and I can see the obsession it’s garnered by many players since it’s inception; but I just can’t seem to get into it. When I think Arenas I think spectators, special events, I think Gladiator.

Vhairi released a bunch of interesting stats on his blog, analyzing the amount of players playing each class in all 3 brackets. 2v2 Arena is clearly dominated by Druids and Warriors, which isn’t a big surprise. At high level the population of Mages, Paladins, Hunters, and Shamans is almost zero; which is pretty sad.

3v3 isn’t really different, Warriors, Druids are still on top with some Priests throw in for flavor I reckon. 5v5 is where you’ll find the other healer classes dominating, with Priests, Shamans, and Paladins on top. The rest is usually rounded out by Warriors (love that MS) and Rogues.
