Tigole comments on Naxxramas and Raid difficulty in Wrath of the Lich King

So people are already starting to say Naxx is too easy. Hell it was all of what, 2 days(?) until Premonition and Vis Maior already cleared the 10 and 25 man versions.

We expect Naxx to be the easiest raid dungeon in WotLK. If experienced Sunwell guilds were repeatedly wiping, the dungeon would be overtuned. The raid game will ramp up over time. There will be many extremely difficult encounters for people to face. But the early bosses in Naxx are intended to be beatable very early on.
The 10’s will get hard too. It’s not a casual/hardcore thing. It’s more about ramping difficulty and progression.

I like this mentality. The game’s not being dubbed down so it’s easier, but instead there’s an actual learning curve for people who may be new or just very rusty to the raiding game. Let’s not kid ourselves here, raiding is pretty much the end game goal for the majority of players. That fact alone is because all of the best lore and most beautiful graphics, encounters, musics, and so forth are located inside the raid dungeons. So making that world easier to break into is fine by me.

Also, the loot for the 10-player Naxxramas is the only loot set at this time, so it’s also dropping in the 25-player version.

Next major beta patch will have the 25 player loot drop. (src)
