Ask Spooner: Will PVP Gear be nerfed in PVE dungeons?

I got this question from Bill, Bill is awesome I might add, one of my favorite readers.

Ho Spooner!

Today’s question has to do with a rumor i’ve heard but can’t seem to find a definitive answer on: Will PvP gear undergo any negative effects or ‘changes’ when someone enters a PvE instance? I’ve repeatadly heard this wierd rumor that PvP gear will temporarily lose some of it’s bonuses or stats if worn into a PvE instance, and I was hoping you might be able to clear up the matter for me.

Bill

Now I personally have not heard that rumor myself, and being inside a few instances with my shaman that’s pretty much a mess of Season 1-2-3 armor and the likes; I have never seen any kind of debuff or something like that. The only way technically speaking they could nerf certain gear would be by some kind of debuff or hidden effect that HAS to show up on the combat logs.

I still might be wrong but after scouring the forums I don’t see anybody else talking about it. The only thing that I do know is that they have nerfed a PVP stat. Resilience does NOT work for PVE from what I know. Now that might have changed a while back, but as far as I can tell it hasn’t. The reasoning behind the nerf was so that players would have a definitive separation between PVP and PVE gear, so players couldn’t just arena their way to T6.

The only way to avoid being crit is going to be through either talents or high defense rating. So that might be where the spawning of that rumor started. Though I’ve searched for any blue posts on the matter but if you happen to find news to the contrary please comment here with the link to the Blue post.
