Jayde shows us Death Knight AOE Tanking as Unholy

I saw this the other day and didn’t get around to posting about it sadly. But to make up for it here you have in all his splendor! The mighty Jaydefury of renowned World of Feedback has been pretty much my mentor of a sorts with Death Knights, and watching this video really opened my eyes to the possibility of going Unholy. Here was his spec.

Right now I’ve been leveling as a Blood spec’ DK because of the complete removal of any downtime. Between the bloodworms healing and the beautiful rotation with Heart Strike (critting for 2200, still less than Obliterate but really nice for 1 rune) I have been taking on elites my level + adds without dropping below 50% health; also Dancing Rune Weapon is really nice as it copies your moves and will apply another Blood Plague through Plague Strike that you can bounce around with Death Strike for heals or an overpowered Heart Strike. Ok enough geeking out, here’s the video and some quoting. Download the video here for better quality.

I had about 12% parry, 8% dodge, 16k armor, and 3 oh shit buttons with Lichborne, IBF, and Bone armor.

Combine that way multiple ways to grab and hold onto AOE agro, and instances get cleared very quickly.

Also I might note: I was doing roughly 1500 DPS the entire instance, while in frost presence. Granted, that probably has to do with the hunter serpent sting bug (targets take a ton more damage with serpent sting up right now for some reason). However, I was still #1 on damage with another 77 DK who was blood, a 75 hunter, and a 76 warlock with me. The paladin was holy.

I tanked this instance using full green/blue DPS gear. Not one piece of defense gear was used.
