Patch 3.0.3 PTR Class Changes Breakdown
There are plenty of changes going on and you can check the full notes in my previous post here. But for the most part here are the biggest changes I noticed. Anything I missed please reply in the comments.
- Orcs: Bloodfury is off the global cooldown so time to integrate into most big spells and attacks that share the cooldown. Trinkets too!
- Druids are getting all their talent points refunded. Epic Flight Form is trainable at Lv. 71 now which feels like a slap in the face for folks that had to do it the hard way when it first came out.
- Aspects for Hunters now share a 1 sec cooldown and Monkey specifically got buffed to 18% over 8% chance to dodge. Disengage is now off the global cooldown too.
- Mages got a lot of changes but the best one of all is that almost all of their damage spells got it’s mana cost reduced.
- Paladins got some “nerfs” but I don’t see it that way. Art of War now adds flat damage done by certain Retribution spells instead of affecting crit. The epic land mount is trainable at Lv. 61, the quest was more fun to be honest. Repentance has been reduced toa 6 sec. duration in PVP which was overpowered so this nerf is warranted. Righteous Vengeance now adds a dot similar to deep wounds instead of increasing critial strike damage. The DPS still pretty much stays the same for PVE but a lot of the heavy crit burst is gone which feels a little more balanced for PVP. I still think that Ret. Paladins will be strong in PVP but gear will affect them more now that these changes are on the table. Besides with enough resilience ont he target, crit is negligible.
- Priest DPS got aomse major buffs for Shadow and Holy got some love as well.
- Rogues got more love in the Combat tree. The rogue cannot be targeted at all while under the affects of Killing Spree.
- Shaman’s imp. fire nova totem now has a 50/100% chance to stun targets for 2 seconds when it goes off like it USED to in Beta. Stormstrike now also stacks in that there can be mutliple stormstrike debuffs on a target.
- Warlocks got a lot of changes, they can train epic land mount at Lv. 61 like their counterparts. Soul Link got buffed to 20% over 15%, Infernals can be used indoors now. Haunt for Affliction now does it’s heal when the Warlock refreshes the spell and the bug where Haunt wouldn’t heal if it killed the target is gone.
- Warriors (Fury) got some love as well in that Bloodthirst is on a 5 sec. cooldown now, Titan’s Grip was buffed to only cause a 12% chance to miss on melee specials instead of 15%. Rampage is triggered from off-hand whirlwind damage. Arms warriors though (and rightly so) got some nerfing in the form of Sudden Death no longer proccing off cirts but instead has a 3/6/9% to go off from melee hits. Rend was also buffed.

Greens at level 78 being better than purples at level 70 will also be a slap in the face then I suppose.
Epic flight form has been out a while. It’s time to make it trainable.

I’ve been using Killing Spree on live, and half the time it doesn’t give me its full five assaults (and half of THAT is because some mob did an AOE stun or incapacitate), so it’ll be nice to be able to get a full KS off.
