Should I drop my crafting to make money?

tailor-be.jpgThis is actually a topic I wrestle with on occasion. I’ve been 375 Mining, 375 Jewelcrafting, 375 Blacksmithing, and now (finally for good) 375 Skinning and Leatherworking. None of these professions have really made me any money at all. I’ve been able to give myself certain boons and with Jewelcrafting I did make myself a little coin with prospecting, but nothing to write home about.

A lot of players too share the logic that having two gathering professions, like herbalism and skinning for example, is a great way to make money by simply being the supplier that other crafters go to. I used to think the same way until I took some stock int he knowledge that when the expansion comes out there are going to be some more changes and improvements to the crafting professions and I don’t want to waste more time, or gold, leveling another up from zero again.

Drysc put things into perspective.

I would recommend against it personally, just because there hasn’t been any announcements made on the direction for professions in Lich King. Of course you always have the ability to re-level it if you want to, so just sort of weigh the risks and see what’s going to make your play time the most enjoyable. (src)
