Goodbye Sharpening Stones and Wizard Oils…
Sharpening Stones and also Wizard Oils have been discontinued. While they were something nice to use once in a while for most people for many raid guilds they were simply another burden to the cost of raiding. They also caused some issues in that they only helped certain classes and took away some of the uniqueness of other classes who were able to imbue their weapons with temporary enchants such as rogues and warlocks. One less thing to dump money and materials on I guess. Will they really be missed though?

thats so stupid… they’re gettin carried away with balance crap.. they’re making it so and one can go do anything anytime with any character with any spec and with no preparation.. i’ve never though of sharpening stones and wizard oil as being required for anything… but it was a good way to see if people were prepared for a run.. its getting rid of all of the significants of raiding and pvp.. if you gathered you consumables before a run and show up with your stones/oils, health/mana pots, elixers, flasks, etc… it made you feel like what you were about to do was a big deal… now you dont need anything… nothing to say hey i thought about this ahead of time and i got ready… i’m prepared… now all you have to do is show up… yea sure it saves some money but you lose that sense of acomplishment or show that you want to do anything to be at the top of your game…
thats just depressing.. one of those changes that makes you think if it keeps goin like this it might be time to /camp and go find something else to do…
sorry for the rant… i just miss the old school MC raid days… when youre class had a role other then tank healer dps… now the line between classes keeps fading more and more every patch… pretty soon theres just going to be one class.. “holy warrior warlock with a pet” you can be anything do anything and no one class can top you… nm… its already here… deathknight?

Discontinued =/= removed. It just means they don’t have to keep improving their effects, possibly making them more powerful than poisons/shammy weapon buffs, which those classes should want to use over oils and stones.
There were level 60 oils still in use at 70 wasn’t there? The damage crit one..
