First of the Month: A Consortium Reputation Guide.
It’s the first of the month again and as usual if you’ve got some reputation with the Consortium you can swing by Aeriss’ Landing in Nagrand and pickup your bag of gems.
Honestly I post this regularly as a reminder since I forgot to get mine way too many times before, but this late in the game it’s just an added little perk but nothing to get moist over.
Sure occassionally you can get lucky and score a few living rubies or maybe some noble topaz, but aside from playing the AH or stockpiling for your in utero Death Knight, it’s not really anything more than vendor fodder.
Still if you managed to get Exalted with the Consortium, it’s a different story since the odds of turning a quick profit for free significantly go up. Consortium rep at it’s basics really isn’t that hard to ramp up either. You could submit yourself to the masochistic tormet of running Heroic Mana Tombs over and over again until you drive yourself to quitting the game. But I got my rep up rather quickly at the onset of the expansion.
In Nagrad you can score some good reputation through their quests or simply by slaughtering tons of Elekk’s (which is a lot more fun) and turning in their ivory tusks repeatedly. You can also snag some of the Oshugun crystal chunks that are scattered all over the Spirit fields. Once you’ve played those two turn ins to the end, it’s time to get a two for one.
Killing ogres either for Horde or Alliance will give you reputation at 10 per kill with either the Kurenai or Mag’har. You could turn in the big warbeads for more rep but save them instead and give them over to the Consortium. Jewelcrafters ESPECIALLY should be hitting up those space mummies since they hold the key to some serious money makers in the gem cutting business.
You’ll probably hit Lv. 70 before you get to exalted with them but at least you’ll have a pretty good stretch, doing all the Netherstorm quests including some of the Etherium ones there should make a very big dent in the stretch between Revered and Exalted. Happy hunting.
