World Servers Down Tonight (Oct. 21st) and Realms Crashing

Our realm technicians have been looking into issues affecting several realms and instances this afternoon. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
In the mean time please refrain from creating additional threads about realm issues, as increasing the post count on the forums does little to address the issue or catch the attention of our database administrators. Thank you for your patience and understanding. (src)

We are presently aware of ongoing issues affecting multiple realms and will continue to monitor the stability of each throughout the day.
At present, we’ve identified issues with the following battlegroups:
Reckoning
Cyclone
Ruin
Vindication
Bloodlust
Rampage
Shadowburn
Stormstrike
Nightfall
Whirlwind
(Just about all of fucking North America)

Once more, our Realm Technicians are currently looking into this influx of latency and instability and are attempting to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Please keep all related discussion isolated to this thread.

Honestly, I’m the most patient person in the world when it comes to this kind of thing but right, fuck it. I’m pissed. And so should you. I refuse to believe that such glatring levels of douchebaggery, such scrotum and taint bullshit that has been our server stability was UNFORSEEN by the tech’s at Blizzard.
FUCK I MET SOME OF THEM AT BLIZZCON! They’re smart and generally polite people. Even at the end of the day when they’ve had to stand for hours on end they’re nice enough to sign your shit and chit chat. So why is it that today (when maintenance was meant to fix these constant problems) everything is busted?
Yeah I’m just venting, but for the amount of shit going on so close to Wrath being launched, I’d be doing everything in my power and then some to bring shit back online and stable if I was Blizzard.

I play on Llane…the instance servers have been constantly down ever since the patch. It’s fucking ridiculous - we can’t raid anymore because the raid instances ARE NEVER FUCKING WORKING!!!

They should shut everything down. I mean EVERYTHING - all the realms across the board. Then, they should get to work on fixing all the problems while the realms are shut down and as they are doing so, suspend the player’s subscription. Then, only when everything is working properly, should they turn everything back on.
I’d rather have no game at all for a few days than half a game for a few weeks.

lmfao i have had a toon stuck in sunwell for 3 days now and a ticket open for just as long. Maintenance didn’t even zone me out.

I’ve leveled herbalism to 100 about 12 times now. everytime the server crashes I come back about 5 minutes later and I’m rolled back to level 2 herbalism. how would YOU feel?

im just pissed cause theres nothing to do… usually its instances are down… owell i’ll pvp.. pvp down… go raid.. now theyre both down its like now what… go do dailys? HA you and everyone else on your server.. the sunwell dailies are a joke its like it was opening day… 90,000 people trying to kill the same 6 mobs… GL.. .

Are they even up now? I mean I called it a night and watched Ironman at midnight. Haven’t even bothered to try and log on this morning to see if anything was working. Can I get an update?

i dont know if theyre up right now… but last night when they went down it was only 10-15 min any they were back up… at least my realm anyway… as for instances and pvp.. no clue….

It’s definitely inconsistent, but I haven’t had the problems that some others have been describing. I couldn’t run my roomies alt through RFD the other day because the instance didn’t exist, but other friends were in SSC and Sunwell without trouble at the same time. Our server did crash out once and shutdown once, but that’s the worst I’ve noticed aside from some lag.
Our server was up last night and was up this morning when I did my transmute before work.

i ran in to “instance not found” and “unable to start instance try again later” last night.. im not sure how the whole instance’ing thing works but it sound like there are only so many “instance servers”.. doesnt matter what instance you enter you use one of the “instance server” slots… with all the new achievements and the horseman seasonal boss that everyone and their grandma are running because its easymode, probably are tying up all the instance server slots… that combined with the mass numbers of people comming back on because of the x-pac.. its most likely just poor planning on blizzards part with just not having enough resources to handle all of the players online at one time… again im just guess’n but thats my take… i dont think its going to get much better till the seasonal boss is gone and people get their achievements done… or blizz needs to upgrade thier shit…

That makes sense. I was thinking, how in the heck can people be in SSC and Sunwell, but RFD isn’t working?!? I thought maybe Azeroth instances went down but people were in some. I suppose with all the people doing HH and Jenkins runs it makes sense. Many people have been going after all those old world kills for their achievements.
Guess we’ll have to start our instances before the prime time to make sure we get a slot.
