Tuesday Maintenance for Sep 30th Prepares for Wrath of the Lich King

You can feel the energy in the air right now so to speak. The Beta test for Wrath of the Lich King has been running strong for a while (could use more but whatever) and we’re entering October. Blizzcon is going to cut a chunk of time away from developing and working on the game for Blizzard employees but honestly, I think it’s a well deserved break.

Patch 3.0.2 has also been on the PTR for a little bit and testing from there as well as bug reports has come a long way in getting the game ready for launch. I’m pretty sure that Patch 3.0.2 is going to be on the live servers after Blizzcon and we’ll have enough time to properly geek out before the big day.

Today is another shot in the arm letting us know that zero hour is appraoching! Blizzard is readying their servers in the wake of bad memories from previous launch issues with Burning Crusade (where my original home server was pretty much borked in Outland for the first week)

We will be rolling out some updates to our hardware during the scheduled Tuesday maintenance on September 30, in preparation for the upcoming expansion Wrath of the Lich King. These updates will be implemented on all realms to help deliver a smooth launch and the best experience possible as we prepare for Northrend. (src)
