Changes to Existing BC Content with Patch 3.0.2

Since it’s going to be a while before we get to play the new hotness on the live servers, I thoguht it would be wise to refresh everyone on all the changes that are hitting.

Below is a big list of all the mian points from dungeon and raid changes, barbershops, world changes in new areas, leveling speed increases, itemization, and so forth:

  • The Atiesh quest-chain will not be completable anymore. Obviously because Naxx will be in Northrend.
  • The Bear Mount from Zul’aman will no longer drop.
  • The Onyxia quest-chain has been removed from the game because the King of Stormwind is back and he slapped the ho.
  • Naxxramas has been moved to the Dragonblight so we won’t see it until Nov. 13th.
  • The ability to get titles related to Tier 4 or Tier 5 content is being removed. Of course, players who got them before the patch keep them. I’m talking about the Hand of A’dal and Champion of the Narru deal for doing the TK and Mag quests.
  • We got Barbershops in the capital cities now.
  • The amount of experience needed to level from 60 to 70 has been lowered significantly so there should be no reason to not hit 70 before Nov. 13th if you’re in your 50’s right now.
  • New graphical effects are being added to the game, including the new shadow engine and increased particle effects.
  • The Stormwind Harbor will be available, but you won’t be able to travel to Northrend until the release of WotLK. However it does have a working boat traveling between Auberdine and Stormwind which will cause all of Darkshore and Teldrassil to become 100% emptier.
  • The Caverns of Time have been slightly modified to add an entrance for CoT: Stratholme. The instance itself won’t be available before WotLK, only the entrance is being added.
  • Mounts and Vanity Pets are now trainable spells and the old items will be used to teach you these spells. Once a mount or pet is learned you can access it through the Character Panel. (Ctrl+P)
  • Various tokens like Badges of Justice or Honor Tokens are all merged in the new Token Interface. It will also remove the Badges of Justice and PvP Tokens from your bags to free up even more space
  • The in-game Calendar used to schedule raids or events between your friends and guildies will be available by typing /calendar or clicking on the minimap button
  • +Healing and +Spell damage stats are being merged into a single +Spell power stat. Healers’ talents and spells have been updated accordingly to compensate this change.
  • Items with magic school-specific damage like +shadow or +nature have been converted to +spell power as well. This include most of the TBC items except for some enchantments like Sunfire or Soulfrost.
  • Protection Paladin and Tanking Warrior sets to reflect changes on the new mechanics. A lot of non set items are also being changed.
  • Raids buffs, debuffs, and auras stacking have been revamped so raid composition is going to be dramatically switched.
  • All TBC raid monsters will have their health reduced by about 30%, their melee dmg nerfed, and although boss abilities remian unchanged; Illidan won’t use BS moves like Shear anymore.

  1. “The amount of experience needed to level from 60 to 70 has been lowered significantly so there should be no reason to not hit 70 before Nov. 13th if you’re in your 50’s right now.”

Thank god!I was so excited that 20-60 was increased. I was hitting a new level just playing a few hours a day, then I hit 60 and everything felt so much slower.

  2. sweet… my shammy just hit 50 last night…

  3. yeah why isn’t that shammy on my server? O_o

  4. I’d love to transfer.. but i hate the idea of playing on 2 seperate servers with my 70’s… if i could take them all to a new server for a reasonable amount of money id do it.. but to transfer all my toons would cost me left arm and right nut… and my toons are a community they support eachothers professions and what not… it would be tough to just take one…

  5. lol I’ll sell one of my 3 nuts for you then. Nah man I feel ya, just hurting to find people that aren’t eating paint chips as a day job on my server that aren’t guilded already.

I don’t like sniping from other guilds either.

  6. I got question about arena weapons.
I know both +SpellDmg and +Healling mace now have the same Spell Power. Do they have the same attribution and abilities(+spell hit / resilience)?

  7. +SpellDmg affects +healing by 50% unless otherwise stated.

  8. hmm…
my question is that since both MACES have the same spell power now, do they SHARE the same attribution and ability?

    ex:
the original +spelldmg MACE now has higher resilience and the original +healing MACE now has +spellhit?

    or

they only SHARE the same “spell power” and nothing else changed.

  9. BTW the person “me” isn’t me “Spooner” just FYI, but to answer your question…

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32963

    vs

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32964

The salvation (healing one) has more base stamina and int. without the +hit but has more resilience

  10. thanks for the answer. ^^
