The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, I love Gearbox

1257792572I love Gearbox, and I love Borderlands. Good fun even if the PC versions are downright getting the whole ass to mouth treatment with multi-player. I know for a fact that on the consoles, Borderlands is destroying right now.

Here’s a direct quote posted by one of the official forum mods. You won’t see this kind of badassery on the Blizzard forums that’s for damn sure. Sometimes I really wish some of the devs would just hop on the forums and downright fucking destroy some of the little kiddies that think the internet is a free license to be a complete asshole.

The last thread was a real abortion, so let’s try this again. This is not the place to have console wars, and if you post anything that could remotely be construed as one in this thread I’ll issue you a temp ban. Please talk about the DLC, what you think might be in it, what you hope might be in it. Refrain from platform discussion entirely.

Oh, and by the way, if you can’t be civil at the very least, then don’t bother posting. Yeah, this is the internet, but that doesn’t give you license to be a complete jerk here. Talk to other humans like humans, and don’t be a condescending ass.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the new DLC coming out on the 24th of November, so in about 14 days. Now there’s been speculation – but I can’t find a link anywhere saying so – that the PC version of the DLC will be out 2 days after the consoles get it.

  1. Hey Spoon, haven’t commented in awhile but always checking the site. Can you tell me what you meant by Borderlands is “destroying” right now for consoles? Is this a good or bad destroying. My plan was to get Borderlands for my PS3 so I can play with my friends but if there’s a lot of network problems I might think twice about it.

  2. Destroying as in being very good. MW2 obviously took some thunder but they’re very different games. I wasn’t aware of network problems for the consoles, I thought those were exclusive to the PC and the router/port-forwarding issues

  3. I’ve had buggy encounters with the network. Just today I was playing Resistance and had lag and several other issues.

Also did you quit Aion? I’m on the edge with that game. I’m level 38 currently and it’s only getting more hell-ish the more I play. I heard it takes roughly 18 hours of grinding per level from 40-50.

  4. Edit: Just watched your torchlight video so nvm about if you quit aion.

  5. A little more than half the players that began Aion quit the game after a month simply because you hit the wall where you’d have to grind or group, if you couldn’t find a group with the limited resources provided then you were stuck.

Those like me that did find a group and got to the Abyss levels were stuck with another wall, grind or grind with a group. Instances in Aion aren’t dungeons, they’re sectioned off places to grind exp as loot dropping 100% doesn’t exist. Bosses won’t always drop loot and there’s a cap to the instance other than the 18 hour lockout. If you level too high you won’t be able to go back into the dungeon. If you level up while in the dungeon and find yourself outside the cap, then you better not die or else you won’t be able to re-enter.

That to me wasn’t a gaming experience worth paying a monthly fee for and dropping a 40 hour work week of time into.
