Auction House & Armory Integration with mobile app.
I’ve been asking for it for a long time now, so have you guys it seems. Blizzard announced today that they’re in development (and making the announcement means that they’ve been working on it and now have more to show) in a means to integrate WoW’s auction house and armory (maybe mail too?) into the mobile app.
They do mention that some of the features will be premium based which to me means that the program will cost about $2.00-$5.00 at the app store and I’m ok with that, it’s a drop in the bucket and a trivial cost if it allows me to make gold while waiting in line to pickup my daughter from school.
Since the launch of the World of Warcraft Armory, we’ve been regularly releasing updates and new features designed to help players stay connected to the game even when they’re not logged in. Today, we wanted to give you a heads-up about a new service now in development that will let players access the Auction House directly through the Armory website or Armory App for iPhone or iPod touch.
While there are still plenty of details to be worked out, we’re designing the service to offer auction functionality similar to what’s available in-game. Players have been requesting — and we’ve been hoping to implement — a feature like this for a long time, and we’re excited that the Armory and the game have evolved to a point that makes it possible.
This is a fairly complex service to develop, due in large part to its unprecedented integration with the game, so we don’t have an exact release date yet. It’s important to note here that certain elements of the service will be premium-based, which we’ll go into more detail on once the service functionality is finalized. As with all of the services we offer, we plan to integrate the Auction House and Armory in a way that won’t disrupt the gameplay experience, and we won’t release it until it meets the quality standards that we’ve set for our other features and services. You may be seeing bits and pieces of the Auction House service pop up in the test builds we use for the public test realms as we go through the process of internal testing. We’ll have more info to share with you here and at http://www.WorldofWarcraft.com as we get closer to release.

Wow thats some pretty crazy stuff – Ill be able to loot my mailbox and put up new items from my bank and inv bags for sale? Id certainly pay 5 bucks to do that, though it wil take some readjusting going back to AHing without Auctioneer and Auctionator. :p
No android love?
Looks like I only have to go on my bank to get the gold from him
I would love for these apps to get on the Driod phones but i think there’s some kind of exclusivity deal behind the scenes. I HATE those fucking things by the way.
Hope they dont do it just for Iphones. Symbian OS has 43% of the world market. Though im sure that Blizz only thinks about US, as the biggest market.
definitely not fair for those of us with other handheld devices, it seems. all that increased traffic will mean a small segment will be able to mine AH glod 24/7 while the rest of us suffer.
The phone companys and devs don’t like it when people hack their apps and devices but they piss off all the people not using whatever it is that is exluding people. However its something that won’t change b/c they feel they have to screw or limit you in some way for it to be worth their while. I mean how could they make money off of you if anyone could get and use it?
