Regarding the tebagging emote, no I don't think there should be one. Too many young minds play the game, and regardless of the general feedback they may get to be polite to people in RL (or mabey they don't) they see things accepted by 'regular culture' everyday and start to think its acceptable. Bliz actually putting a labled teabag emote in the game sends a bad message. People will find a way to do what they want, and kids even find it rewarding to take something, like an emote, meant for another purpose and making it work to thier liking, so I think it should stay at that.

Stop with this gathering argument, its pointless.

The way i see it- when you are gathering a node that is at least 10 points lower than your skill, you gather it instanly with 100% success rate and now waiting for pass/fail. If your skill is less than 10 over the node, then you have the pass/fail bars and you have to wait.

I patent this, if NC uses it, i want 1% if their annual income from Aion :)

It took you 45 seconds and yet you typed "why did I was 45 seconds reading that" did it take you 2 seconds to write that? Good lord, I thought I was the typo king! Anyway, take a pill junior. Spoon does the serious stuff I do everything else. If it hurts your little brain then don't click on the articles with my name. What's matters, you say. This site is about games and the world we live in with them. You do understand this right? Ah, never mind.

I'm guessing that JA's writing is supposed to be humorous but it seems so out of place for Spooncraft. After reading this article the thought that crossed my mind was "why did I was 45 seconds reading that?"

Try writing about something that matters.

PS: I am very interested in knowing what more specifically:

"6. Added description "A hidden effect(s) is activated when you equip the complete set" at the bottom of the tooltip of the item that has a hidden set effect."

means. Does it mean there are equipment like I had in FFXI, with unseen bonus stats? Take in example the Lv.35+ (I think that was when you could start those grind quests in MMV) Silver Mane 'set'. It has no bonuses but the NPC refers to it as a set. The typical sets has bonuses that you get from having more pieces visible at the bottom, greyed out - I don't see those as hidden. But then again, this could be a bad translation from the Korean patch notes. It will be interesting to see what happens once the patch is live here for us and out of testing over in Korea - I am guessing by then I should have the full set and can look for attributes being boosted.

I can agree that alot of it feels like a huge long grind. Gathering can take time, and yes, indeed, the higher skill you are in relation to the node, it will feel slower to gain the next skill point. The reason as I see it, is that you gather the nodes far quicker (sometimes near instantly) and you are done with the node so much faster and thus go through plenty more nodes in the same time it took you to get 1 skill at a lower skill with less nodes. I personally, at least still try to gather and craft with at least +5-10 skill points, to minimize the risk of failure though. Crafting at the exact skill gives you a far higher chance of failure and losing your material(s).

I also see the time I invested doing gathering and ultimately crafting what I gathered, as rewarding - since once I sell or craft the materials, I get results from my labor. And well, I don't find it so boring personally, but that is a matter of opinion anyways.

But before I get totally off track again, there is one fundamental problem that we all face: You can't please everyone. I might love that I have to work for things and put more effort into it, others might hate it. In the end, you will please some, and others will dislike it. The patch that are incoming (http://powerwiki.uk.aiononline.com/aion/Patch+Notes+1.5.1.0) should help making us meet on the middle though. There will be increases to kinah earned from quests as well as XP. The penalty fees are supposed to be lowered a bit, there's supposed to be increase in drop rates for certain things (skill books in Alquimia for one, wich is a good thing). They lower a little difficulty for some bosses (like the last one in Steel Rake wich is in fact a decent challenge (but I like challenges :))).

Overall, with this patch, I feel they take steps in meeting us halfway from both sides. The grind should be lessened slightly with XP boosts from crafting/gathering and quests. But at the same time, it will require an effort since skill raises at the same rates (for crafting that is perfectly fine in my eyes, and in all honesty, I find it ok for gathering as well). Kinah should be a bit easier to get since quests reward some more kinah. And so on forth. My main 'beef' with Aion at the moment that can potentially ruin things for me, is that Windows Vista and Windows 7 users, get the Cry*.dll crash when larger sieges occur. Like when capturing and defending fortresses. With that being a major part of the game, it is game breaking that we are basically expecting to crash. They fixed the queues (at least on Spatalos) and they have taken decent measures in lowering the gold spamming (and it works at least for me on Spatalos, as I tend to get 3-5 messages a day). I have no doubt that they are listening to the players and taking all we say into account. Overall, I see improvement already and I am enjoying the ride to Lv.50 (Currently at Lv.41 (10% to 42), so not reached cap yet and I have more to experience, witness and learn).

The game has only been out a month bro. Calm down, you know games as big as this have to go through tons of testing and debugging in order to fix small issues. If you are not enjoying the game at all then you are just wasting your time at the moment. Learn how to put something on the shelf for a while and come back to it later to see if it's fixed. There are plenty of other things in the world to do than just sit around and complain about a game and hoping it gets fixed.
