Wowhead Unveils Hunter Pet Talent Builder

It’s not really anything astronomical, but with the onset of Wrath of the Lich King it only makes sense that Wowhead would begind developing this kind of calculator. In WotLK Hunter pets (as announced in the WWI) will have their own talent trees that will follow a Tanking/DPS/Utility format. More on this in a later post I promise, I have not forgotten about all my Hunters out there.

For now here’s the breakdown on what you have in the way of tools on this calculator courtesy of Kenzi.

Pet Comparison Table
Ever wondered what the difference REALLY was between a raptor and a ravager? Now you can find out in a simple, easy to use pet comparison table. As a bonus, clicking on a pet family on the list will take you to the 3D gallery for pets of that type, so you can find the one that’s to your liking!

Pet Gallery
Now you can try before you buy! Wowhead now features a gallery of every trainable pet in World of Warcraft, complete with a fully rotatable 3D model of each one. This way you can find the look that you want, and then jump quickly and easily to the pet’s NPC page to help you track it down and tame it!

Pet Training Calculator
This is essentially a clone of the player class talent calculator but it uses the different training abilities and such that you can teach your pet currently. Really cool little widget where you can theory craft and play around with different builds.

  1. im pretty sure petopia already has 3 of those, not as pretty looking though

  2. Yeah that’s something that you’ll notice on the web right now. Before the expansion all these corporate mergers or partnerships between websites are frantically trying to get all their shit ready for WotLK.

Right now you could go to petopia and get everything you needed, but now wowhead has it, and wowhead has the wotlk talents that you could have seen a LONG time ago on wotlkwiki.

Remember there isn’t a monopoly on information :) But when you have some corporate $$$ and good coding talent, making something pretty can make a lot of difference.
