Mage talents, spells, and more in WotLK - Part 2

Welcome back to Part 2 in my little Mage experiment today. Here’s where we go into the talents added/changed in Wrath of the Lich King.

Here are the new talents.

Arcane

  • Potent Spirit: Increases your spell critical strike rating by an amount equal to 7/15% of your total Spirit. (36 point)
  • Incanter’s Absorption: When you absorb damage your spell damage is increased by 5/10/15% of the amount absorbed for 10 seconds. (41 point)
  • Student of the Mind: Increases your total Spirit by 4/7/10%. (41 point)
  • Netherwind Presence: Gives your Arcane Missiles, Arcane Barrage, Arcane Blast, Fireball, Frostbolt and Frostfire Bolt spells a 1/2/3/4/5% chance to cause the next Arcane Blast, Fireball, Frostbolt or Frostfire Bolt to be instant. (46 point)
  • Arcane Barrage: Launches several missiles at the enemy target, causing 386 Arcane damage. (51 point)

Fire

  • Fiery Payback: Increases damage caused by Molten Armor by 10/20% and whenever you resist a spell the caster takes 25/50% of any instant damage that would have been caused. Damage caused by Fiery Payback will not exceed 50% of the caster’s health. (36 point)
  • World in Flames: If a Fire spell you cast hits 3 or more targets, the spell causes an additional 5/10/15% damage. (41 point)
  • Hot Streak: Any time you score 3 spell criticals in a row, you have a 33/66/100% chance the next spell cast within 10 seconds will gain 100% increased chance to score a critical hit. (41 point)
  • Burnout: Increases your spell critical damage bonus with all Fire spells by 5/10/15/20/25% but every time you critical with a Fire spell you lose an additional 1% of your total mana. (46 point)
  • Living Bomb: The caster becomes a living bomb, causing 51 Fire damage to all enemies within 10 yards every 2 sec. After 6 seconds, a fiery explosion occurs causing an additional 212 Fire damage to all enemies within 10 yards. (51 point)

Frost

  • Arctis Winds: Increases all Frost damage you cause by 1/2/3/4/5% and reduces the chance melee and ranged attacks will hit you by -1/-2/-3/-4/-5%. (31 point)
  • Winter’s Grasp: Gives your Frost damage spells a 5/10% chance to apply the Winter’s Grasp effect, which increases the chance all attacks will hit the target by 2% and the target is considered Frozen for 5 seconds. (36 point)
  • Brain Freeze: Your Frost Nova and Frostbite effects also reduce the target’s chance to hit with all attacks by -5/10/15%. (41 point)
  • Improved Water Elemental: Increases the duration of your Summon Water Elemental spell by 5/10/15 sec and increases the total health and mana of your water elemental by 10/20/30%. (41 point)
  • Chilled to the Bone: Increases the damage caused by your Frostbolt and Ice Lance spells by 1/2/3/4/5% and reduces the movement speed of all chilled targets by an additional -2/-4/-6/-8/-10%. (46 point)
  • Deep Freeze: Stuns the target for 5 sec. Only usable on Frozen targets. (51 point)
