WWI08 Class Panel: Mages, Warriors, Druids, Warlocks, Rogues.

So in a nutshell Warriors are going to be Barbarians from Diablo II, Rogues get an AOE, Warlocks can shapeshift, Druids are getting Dire Cat, and Mages will become walking explosions.

Mage

  • Mage Armor will be reworked to reduce harmful debuff durations, so that’s a more suitable raid armor. Finally.
  • New ability: Frostfire Bolt. In itself it’s not as good as Frostbolt or Fireball, but when the player talents into both Frost and Fire, Frostfire Bolt will be better. Just by what we’ve seen in the Alpha and what the developers have stated, it won’t replace any of it’s parent spells completely but it will be pretty viable if you’re an elementalist. It’s kind of like fire damage that also adds the chilled slow effect and can proc impact. Pretty crazy stuff.
  • Devs will make sure Mages are kings of AoE damage, and scaling up their damage to be viable.

Druid

  • Entangling roots will be useable indoors. This will make Druids a little more viable in Heroic dungeons.
  • Nourish will be a new healing spell, healing for more hit points for each HoT effect on the target.
  • There isn’t any plan to change cyclone.
  • Potions, on-hit effects, and such will work in the shape shifted forms.
  • Dire Cat is planned.

Rogue

  • Rogues will get an ability called “Fan of Knives”, an AoE ability allowing them to attack all enemies within a short range. This is the same as Maiev’s ability in Warcraft III.
  • Sap will now work on more targets, humanoids, beasts, dragonkins, demons. “Anything with a skull and a brain inside of it”.

Warlock

  • Demonic Circle will allow warlocks to scribe a circle in the ground to teleport to it later with another spell or drastically decrease summoning time for pets.
  • The 51-Point demonogy talent is a Demon-Form, this will allow you cast AOE Shadowbolts. It looks rigth now like Demon Form Illidan, and I think I already posted the leaked screenshots of the spells but I’m not sure. I’ll repost them eventually though, there’s more than shadowbolt volley.

Warrior

  • Titan’s Grip is a new Fury talent and allows warriors to wear 2 hand weapons with a single hand. It’s best to note that this isn’t the 51 pt talent. That would be reserved for a leaping attack (but that’s a leaknugget so you didn’t hear it from me)
  • Protection Warriors are getting a spell called “Shockwave” allowing them to damage and stun all the monsters in front of them.
  • Bladestorm will be a new Arms talent whirlwinding all enemies in range every x seconds for a few seconds. Think Ravager proc from SM-Armory, also Barbarians do this in Diablo2 (originally Whirlwind) and Blademasters in Warcraft III did this too. Only you’ll have control of your charatcer so you can walk through a group of enemies while spinning. I’m holding back from spinnaz jokes.
