What was the point of the Sunday Blizzard vs. Players battle on the TTR?
Let me break it down for you here in a simple sentence and then we’ll get to the mud slinging after the cut.
Blizzard announced combat and arena battles on the TTR, there wasn’t much of that as it was a glorified stress test for the servers and it was still a lot of fun and successful in it’s intended purpose, and yes there were still plenty of arena battles going on though due to the massive amount of people it was buggy as hell. People need to calm the fsck down and just quit the game entirely if they are THIS pissed over a test realm that will be wiped in a few weeks. I wish that the moment you cancel subscription your posting rights are revoked immediately so you can’t go on being a complete jackoff on the official forums.
But here’s Hortus and Neth trying to please the little babies!
… all were geting is crashes, server downtimes, more lag than ever, and zero arena. Everytime we would enter ar us backena it would bug, and not let us leave, and wehn we loged back on, it wouldnt let us back onto that char. its 2:51. Its over at 3 supposedly. What was the point of this again? GG Blizz. You did nothing to bring the community together and have fun.
The point is to stress test the server. This is a test realm. (src)
We had a great time taking time to talk to everyone and joining in the battles in the arenas. Many of us were in the arenas as we could and my own team managed to get in 11 rated 3v3 matchess. Blue Team Go, ended at 7-4, which wasn’t too bad given we hadn’t ever fought as a team before.
I’m just sorry I didn’t have time to duel people like they wanted, but was being flooded with /tells at the same time as the requests were coming in.
The point of the Battle was to load of the Tournament realm with as many people as we could (stress it) and take part in the Arena Tournament where we could so we could interact with the community. We also had some people with GM powers that were spawning in mounts for people as well as some extra mobs to entertain those gathered around.
The more we understand about the capabilities of our hardware, the more we are able to anticipate the load and make things as smooth as possible once the Tournament goes live. It’s also our chance as Blizzard Employees to play there before it does become the Tournament.
