The Daily Spoon: WotLK Leak Week.

Ok, it’s all boiled down to this.

I already ranted and raved about the spam emails, AIM spamming, I’ve had to delete/moderate a bunch of comments here on the posts and I feel like a moron for not putting this up sooner. I’m shutting down the current Summer Plans poll early and putting this up for the next 2 weeks. What do you want to see on this site?

Should I post all the leaked Alpha information I have? (A lot by the way) or Should I keep that stuff off this site entirely and wait for the Beta to hit before I post updates?

It’s in your hands now. Readers have already expressed to me their needs but I want there to be a little more interaction here. This will be the deciding factor.

  1. Stick to your guns, Spooner. :)

Alpha info is not exactly reliable anyway as it will be changed, if folks don’t like it — well tough. Not like they can’t go elsewhere to find it, right?

  2. Reliable or not (playing devil’s advocate) there’s a lot of content out there in the way of maps, dungeons, music, exploration videos, NPC screenshots, Tier gear, professions, the list goes on. This kind of stuff is obviously subject to major changes or even complete deletion from the finished product, but some won’t really be changed much at all.

I figure I can spend hours on AIM and email having discussions and sending feedback etc about it, or just post it on the site. Either way I’m sure Blizzard has my home targetted for nuclear bombardment or I’m so far under the radar I could show you Arthas loot drops and they wouldn’t notice.

  3. News is news, and the job is news. A lot has leaked ( a lot more then I thought would have) and it’s hard to hold it back now.

Just remind everyone that none of the stuff that’s made it’s way out is anything final. Blizz still has a lot of time to change and edit everything there, so none of it could make it to the alpha. Half of it might just be them trying new ideas to see what does and doesn’t work.

The real question here is, do you want to post speculation, or fact? That’s what it comes down to.

  4. I agree with DrkSnpr14, although its admirable to hold leaked news back because blizzard doesnt want it exposed, its already been posted on many other sites. I read spooncraft everyday, cause I like the way you put things out, and your site is real clean a laid out nice. But even I look at other sites to get a little info on whats going to be going on in wrath.

I mean, I guess you can kind of compare it to the news. Bill clinton probably HATED the news when the whole monica thing was going on, but its going to get reported if they (the news) finds out about things like this.

I guess the best phrase for it is “Necessary Evil”. But off that point, if youve had this much success without leaking any information at all spooner, your doin a pretty damn fine job. :)

  5. don’t post it, but send it to my email so i can see anyway. thanks knox.

  6. LOL Best way to wakeup this morning is to see an old friend on my site :D
