Class Q&A: Paladins (nothing to see here seriously)

We'll never look this cool in WoW

We'll never look this cool in WoW

If you’re a glutton for massive walls of text and reading the same statements over and over again, just worded differently, then you should read the Paladin Q&A. I’m not offended or angry or anything like that because of the Q&A, but I just wonder why it was even written in the first place. There isn’t a single nugget of information in the Q&A that’s new or already mentioned in the patch notes.

  • Paladins aren’t getting gap closing abilities like Charge or Death Grip.
  • Ret DPS is going to be buffed in Patch 3.2, but not their burst.
  • Paladin tanks are going to be doing very well in Patch 3.2.
  • Paladin healing is going to be more diverse and potentially more powerful in 3.2.
  • Fundamental Paladin mechanics aren’t being changed at all in any way. Blessings will stay the way they are now, same thing for judgments and seals. There won’t be changes to Avenging Wrath or Divine Shield or Hammer of Justice and so on and so forth.

I don’t think the class even needs many changes to be completely honest. Healing is effective and interesting and now with the 3.2 changes gear will be worth upgrading. Damage dealing as a paladin was boring and very front loaded and bursty and in 3.2 that’s being changed to be a steady and consistent flow with good single target DPS. Paladin tanking is fun right now, and the changes to block and such as well as the Ardent Defender talent are just going to make it easier for us to cope with the ass-breaking damage being dished out in most hard mode encounters.
