You know people have been asking for it since before the first Lv. 70 character. These people whine too much. Anyways, it seems that regardless of QQ-ing in the shade or not has yeilded at least some form of reply from Blizzard.

Depending on how mount riding skills are going to progress, the most likely point for a price drop would be with the release of the next expansion, just as the ground mount prices dropped when Burning Crusade was released. Again it would likely depend on a few factors, and may actually not change. But that’s a question for a later time. (src)

This is the FIRST time that a reply to this question has been anything but “no”. I wouldn’t get my hopes up though because I cannot imagine a new form of transportation being required in Northrend, and as such Drysc did say that they would lower the cost of a new tier of riding skill was needed. The most that I can figure is in the NEXT expansion after WOTLK, we’ll need water mounts of some sort. (more on this little theory another day hehehe)
