This was something of an undocumented change that really, I am in love with. I think that the majority of the population as well is overjoyed but I DO sympathize with the hardcore PVP players out there because the game has DRAMATICALLY changed it’s PVP face since classic. Even AV has been changed where you can que as a party, not a raid, a party.

You can only join AV as a 5 person party. Which is why the button says “Join as party” instead of “Join as Group” as it does for other battlegrounds. (src)

Here’s the deal. Players queing up for a battleground as a full premade group are having to wait a VERY long time to get into a match. This is pissing off the premades. The only real purpose that most premades exist is to easy mode farm for honor points so that members of the group can get gear quicker than the average joe. There are many premades that run for the fun of PVP because that is what they’re about but that is more the exception than the rule and isn’t the motivation for the rest of the premade groups.

So Blizzard saw this, heard months upon months of complaints that premades are basically steamrolling across battlegrounds ending matches in 3 minutes or less and they made a change.

The matchmaking system was tightened up for premade groups in 2.4 this will result in longer queue times unless there are similarly geared premade groups on the battleground for you to be matched against.

If you want to get into a Battlground quickly, queue up solo, if you want to play with a premade group then expect to wait longer. (src)

That’s right ladies, the matchmaking system that scans your gear and pits you against equal enemies has finally come to light. The best part are the players that are saying this is unfair… because rolling a premade group of season 3 gladiators against some new 70’s in a pug is really fair right? Morons. Drysc to the rescue!
