Patch 2.4.2 Hunters are the new Anti-Druid?

warcraft_raneman049c.jpgA bunch of my hunter friends are going nuts over this new change in Patch 2.4.2 which I really don’t seem to understand. Obviously the change to Scare Beast is amazing. It’s now instant cast, has a 30yrd too, basically they’re right; hunters might become the anti-druid in Arena combat. But druids are getting all panicked for no reason. As with all changes this is still in it’s infancy and is currently on the PTRs. Go there, test the effects, see if it’s worth going nuts over. And truth be told, druids are damn near impossible to lock down most times in the 2v2 and 3v3 arena brackets anyway, there has to be a rock to the scissors folks. Image from Raneman.

I disagree that you don’t need to test something to know how it will work out. You can conceptualize it and create a theory on what will occur, but that doesn’t guarantee anything. We’ve put things in testing before only to find it didn’t quite play out how we expected. If you could conceptualize something, create a theory from that and implement it without testing, all development of all games would go significantly faster. But that’s not how it works.
