More Patch 2.4 Warlock issues.
Normalized from the Skullcrusher US server posted this question (one of many I soon found out) :
I know there has been a tremendous amount of QQing from the Warlock community regarding the Lifetap issue. Something i would like to hear is a CM tell everyone why they decided to change Lifetap to it’s current build on the test server. After THOUSANDS of responses to the original patch of lifetap, it seems as though you disregarded the fundamental criticisms of the patch. It makes me wonder why you changed it at all. Would you care to comment?

Shortly after Nethaera replied and some more topics sprang up regarding Warlocks and the lifetap problems. I’ll try to sum up all of the blue replies best I can in this post with direct quotes and links to the source thread.
It was changed to its current incarnation because we weren’t happy with the original change we put into the PTR. It may change again if we feel we’re not getting out of it what we thought we would.
Kalgan just posted yesterday that we are testing things. This being the Test Realm, it seems like the ideal place to do so. I don’t know how much more you’ll get out of his own posts (or what you may be looking for inparticular), but he does explain the process a little bit more as well as a little about how he feels it sits at current.
I think there are a lot of people very anxious about this patch because you don’t know (and we aren’t saying) when it’s going live. I understand the reason for the anxiety, but I would please remind everyone that the patch notes have continued to change as we’ve gone along through the test process and may yet contain more changes before this patch goes live. These are not yet final notes and won’t be until we go to live, whenever that may be. Ie. When we feel it’s ready. (src)
Q u o t e:
You are asking for feedback on lifetap and then not providing back any sort of resemblance on the feedback. How can anyone justify having this spell scale off two stats inversely when no other spell in the game does… we have yet to hear anyone address this. The healthloss is negilable in a PvE enviorment, the scaling is not however.
Sometimes our feedback comes in a different form than you expect, such as noticeable changes on the PTR. Also, for those concerned that you keep giving feedback and have given plenty of it, us asking for more doesn’t mean we haven’t seen what you have been saying, but it does continue to keep discussions constructive whether you feel it’s overkill or not. It also continues to let us see what issues are staying at the top in regard to their importance to the community. The discussions go on and on as well in this thread over on the Public Test Realm Forums and it gets a little ugly after a while. Just to conserve space and not force you to scroll down forever and a day just click the link and read through for yourself.
