More Death Knight abilities & spells.
Now don’t start freaking out more than you probably are. Of course everything is going to look overpowered right now for Death Knights. You start at about Lv. 55 for goodness sake you bellend. Blizzard’s making a new class so it’s going to be all hyped and crazy over the top until they release the talents and new spells for THE REST OF US and then the QQ balancing can begin.
- Changing runes won’t be as prohibitive as talent speccing or anything like that, but at the same time, it won’t be so fluid so that you’re doing it between fights. We’re going to hit some sweet spot between those two. (src)
- Death Knights aren’t restricted to swords, they can also uses maces and axes and dual-wield their 1-hand version. Obviously, they can’t use a shield. (src)
- Using a 2-hand weapon or dual-wielding won’t change anything to the amount of runes (6) you can use. (src)
- Death Knights will start off in a floating necropolis in the Eastern Plaguelands, much like Naxxramas in its current location. They will then go on to level in a dedicated area East of Tyr’s Hand and the Noxious Glade, where they will learn more about the background of Death Knights. (src)
- A few more DK abilities:
Blood Presence - DPS. Increases DPS and heals the DK slightly when attacked. (src)
Blood Strike - Does an amount of damage based on how many diseases are on the target. (src)
Blade Strike - Applies disease to the target in addition to doing damage. (src)
Mind Freeze - Interrupts spell casting (src)
I like the whole starting in a floating Necropolis part. That’s a new twist on starting zones which is pretty sweet considering you’ll have to take a crashc ourse in how the hell to play and you only start at Lv. 55 (unconfirmed) so that’s 55 levels worth of gameplay where you miss out on learning. I know there will be ten million Death Knights day one, but I won’t be one of them. Maybe as an alt much later on, but I can’t see myself really playing at as a main character. The whole lore behind it doesn’t do it for me. It’s badass don’t get me wrong, but since when are Death Knights supposed to be the good guys, chaotic or otherwise.

Maybe they were going for a men in grey approach instead of white hats or black hats.
Personally I don’t find the concept of the class all that appealing and though I’m (reasonably) sure I’ll make one at some point, like you I’m more than willing to wait a while, maybe forever.
Death Knights (and Necromancers) seem more like villains to me…not a ‘hero’ class, but that’s me. Heck, Warlocks push things a bit.

I guess you could go that route with Warlocks too but you know, there’s something about the Death Knight. It rings very close to home with the whole Scourge thing. I can roll with it though and play around but I missed the boat with Burning Crusade when I made a Draenei from scratch and I don’t want to do that with WOTLK.
Death Knights look amazing but it’s nothing so incredible that I’d go through Outlands AGAIN for.

Hey, yea i am getting pretty happy about the new death knight class…. Although it is going to be a little unfair for everyone else who does not have a death knight. They are going to be way overpowered and unfair. But I’m pretty excited for all this. I just don’t like the rune concept, even thought they would not be the same without it.
P.S. It is worth it to get a death knight and to go through the outland’s again. Anyways to me the outlands was pretty fun.

Im sorry to say to you that death knights will NOT be overpowered. If you read the blizzard site it says that yes they have balanced the death knight to be no more powerful than any other class. But what struck me as cool is that they are considering to make more hero classes. I dont know about you but i think that Demon Hunter seems like a pretty nice bet on the next one =)

The death knight is ridiculous! I am being killed by DK’s 8 lvls lower than me as if i were 20 levels lower than them. Blizzard is full of it if theyre saying they made it balanced with the other classes. I like my druid and i dont want to be a DK but i cant gt anything done in the outlands with all those horde DK’S.

Spooner, if you think that the DK is to close of a scourge idea, what do you think about the Undead in the Horde??? It is the same concept.
